Sad day yesterday. Put a littermate of my older dog to sleep. He had multiple problems, but his biggest problem was the female co-owner. She has significant mental issues and made up symptoms and insisted that they be treated. It was indeed his time, though. Meanwhile all the rest of the littermates are fine, including my girl Babe. She is still competing in field trials and wowing judges with her marked retrieves. The litter turns 11 yrs in February.
So, does Mike own a Steinway yet?
Congrats on the offer and closing date, Bill! Just awesome.
Did ya get any shop time, Dave?

    Onward and downward ;-)

    Good morning!

That is sad about the littermate, Lee. My condolences.

Bill, that is so exciting about your house selling! Congratulations! I am so happy for you!!

I think that I'm coming down with a cold or something. Ugh.

    Have a great day!

Too bad about the dog, Lee. Sad. The best jobs still always have messy human foibles involved. Part of our journey here on earth.

Well, found yet another old Steinway nearby, this one on eBay. Built in 1908 (when me GF worked there) no major problems from the pictures, great reviews for the model, a 52” upright. I messaged the seller where to go to inspect it but eBay security won’t let him send me his address. Or tel. # or email. Grrrr. Catch 22! I know It’s south of Providence RI and DGS has a hockey game there Sunday so I could swing by…if I knew where I was going. The other catch is it’s 600 lbs and I live on a third floor.

Have been able to avoid between meal eating and overstuffing at meals past two days, using tools from old weight-loss program materials. Feels good. Hiking this morning with an old friend, maybe Mt Wachusett again. Hiked around a lake late yesterday.

Onward and maybe downward this time.

    Good morning gentlemen.

As Kirk Herbstreit said in his emotional tribute to his dog Ben, the only fault dogs have is that they die too soon.

Made it into the shop for much of the morning yesterday, turning a vase from some walnut. Didn't finish sanding the inside. I hope it hasn't warped overnight. I'll get to it this morning. Leaf gathering in the afternoon, then loading the car for the holiday bazaar I am selling at tomorrow.

    Good Morning

Lee, I imagine it is never easy for you to see a dog's life so shortened due to the owner, especially a litter mate of Babe's.

A piano restoration hobby and living on the third floor....makes perfect sense to me.

Weather has improved so we were heading over to Florence today anyway. Fortunately our realtor is available this afternoon to meet us there and get us into a couple houses now that we can make an offer. One we really wanted to see a couple weeks ago but had accepted an offer the day before. It fell back on the market last week. We have been eager to see it live and are optimistic. Only negative really is it is in a gated community which I don't care for. Heather is going to postpone her trip to her sister's just in case. My stomach has been acting up again so I will go back on Slippery Bark Elm for a season to restore balance.
