Nice hike there Dave. No snow here, but DB got 6" in NH; we got lots of cold rain. I'll bet the rivers will be back up for the year's last canoe trip on the Assabet, Dec. 7.
My place is small (600 sf I think) but I have three 2-drawer file cabinets I've been meaning to clean out, consolidate and get rid of, so there will be a blitz decluttering before piano moves in. DS came over the other night and we scoped out how the moving equipment will fit on the walkway and stairs and landings, taking measurements and bouncing ideas off each other. Came up with a list of things to improve, and I think we'll be ready to go when the time comes.
Helping DD move into her new apartment (3rd floor) this morning. Bali, to Hawaii to city apartment in her hometown, only took her 20 years to settle down. Gotta love her.

Mornin' gents.
Really nice Thanksgiving dinner in Manhattan with DS#2. Had a very good prime rib, first time ever on Thanksgiving. Traffic in and out of NYC was challenging.
Your hikes are inspiring, Dave.
Some kids have wanderlust, Mike. Sounds good that she has gotten an apartment near her family.

Good morning!
Frankie let me sleep until after 6:30.
We had so much food yesterday. We will eat on it today and maybe tomorrow. I will freeze the rest. We had a wonderful dinner with just us three.
I can't imagine driving into NYC on Thanksgiving.
Bill, we have not had to deal with house buying since 1996. I hope it goes smoothly for you in the home (pun intended) stretch.
Dave, that looks like an awesome hike that you did. You are giving me the itch to do some hiking here.
Have a great day! Go Chiefs!

Good morning gentlemen.
Ended up not going out for dinner yesterday. Rita made fried rice for supper. I'm still working on the pumpkin pie from our earlier feast. The pie isn't very good, but we never throw out food. My coffee this morning has real heavy cream in it, too. Surprisingly, my weight has stayed constant for the last week.
Going to be pretty cool today (43 for a high), but I need to wash both vehicles. I'll wear rain gear and heavy rubber gloves and have a bucket full of warm water for washing. Reminds me of my dad. He had a heavy set of rain gear he'd put on and wash the car every Saturday morning, no matter what the weather.
Moving used to be routine for us, part of Army life. Now we have been in one house for almost 23 years.0 -
Good Morning,
Prime rib would be so much better than turkey or ham.
Proud of you all hiking and enjoying cold and snow by arthur does not like cold therefore I prefer heat,
Hope all had a great Thanksgiving, and good black Friday; I intentionally will not do any shopping this weekend.0 -
Good Morning
We watched one of the YouTube videos of the Macy's parade filmed from the curb along 6th Ave just down from Rockefeller center. What a miserable day to be driving in NY. I haven't driven in the city in probably 20-25 years. I imagine that now I would find it miserable on a lovely spring day. There is no traffic, like Manhattan traffic. It sure taught me the art of defensive/aggressive driving when I learned to drive back at the dawn of time.
Nice quiet Thanksgiving yesterday. The precooked turkey from Whole Foods was surprisingly good. Old habit popped up when I essentially ate a second helping of turkey while carving up and packaging up the leftover bird. We also may have resolved the house purchases after the two agents talked last night and ours brought us up to speed. We agreed to what their agent put out there with a minor change/request. Hopefully the digital ink will be digitally dry on the digital paper today. Heather is eager to get out and explore a bit today. We have to resolve the house and there is a commissioning service with The Northumbria Community as an intercessor midday to deal with and then we will go out and about.0
