    Rise and shine...

Woke to a winter wonderland and still coming down. Schools are cancelled and no piano class at the senior center. None last week on Thanksgiving and the week before the teacher cancelled -- I'll forget where middle C is if this keeps up.

Bill, happy birthday, belatedly. Nice home there. Now you need a dog to go with the backyard.

Remembered since Steve fell, that Lee took a spill a few weeks back. And Dave? didn't you slip/trip and fall hiking awhile ago?

Got out for a nice hike yesterday, about 3 miles along forest trails, up a steep hill past giant boulders, and along a river in Harvard research forest. Great to get out in the fresh air. Trails were clear and dry, but from now on I'll probably need spikes or snowshoes I guess.

    Have a great day.

    Good morning!

I am going to the doctor this morning. The swelling has gone down in my hand/wrist, but it is still slightly tender. My ribs are what still hurt. My shoulders hurt, but I think that is primarily arthritis. I need to work on my diet again and exercise. Winter weather makes the arthritis symptoms much worse.

Connie also has a doctor appointment this afternoon that I will drive her to.

We had a nice dinner at Red Lobster last night. The restaurant is a good half hour from home. The dinner caused a flare up of Connie's IBS symptoms, so a lot of the joy of the dinner was lost with her not feeling well when we got home.

Mike, with so much online these days, can you take piano lessons online?

    Have a great day!

    Mornin' gents.

    Snow, yup.
I did a snow slip last night when it was just a dusting. Was in my crocs and hit a slick spot in the grass walking the dogs in the back forty. Classic pratfall. No injuries. Glad the ground wasn't frozen.
Hope the doc just prescribes RICE, Steve. And a maybe a little anti-inflammatory.
Well, done moving snow. Gonna see if we can rustle up a pheasant or two.

    Onward and downward ;-)

    Good morning gentlemen.

Try to stay upright gentlemen. None of us is as young as he used to be.

Went out for pizza last night, then gave DGS his birthday present - an electric scooter. Tonight, would normally be choir, but DGD has her first orchestra concert since beginning viola, so we will be cringing and smiling as a few dozen grade school kids saw at various stringed instruments. The last orchestra concert I attended was the Philadelphia Philharmonic, conducted by Eugene Ormandy - 60 years ago- on tour in Portland, Oregon.

    Good Morning

That picture and Mike's post reminds me why I left Philadelphia and headed to the West Coast. Bill don't do snow. I may visit it at my leisure and walk in it, but that is as far as I go. Quiet Bday yesterday. We went out to lunch to get my free BDay sub at TOGOs a favorite of ours in California. I just found out there was one in Eugene. I was a little under the weather so we took it easy. The current owners have dog(s). I refer to the back yard as the Doggie Olympics Training Center. It is all woodchips back there, as will the front yard since I don't want a lawn to take care of and they need too much water out of this world. During our last drought down south they would pay incentives to people who would remove their lawns. Many did. Unfortunately too many went with the fake lawn stuff.

At one time I thought it would be nice to put down concrete and stain green; now I enjoy lawn and shrubs but we only have a 7,800 sq ft lot and house takes up 3,000 ft.
Falling is no fun, still dealing with fall from July 2023; hip is good now shoulder hopefully will be replaced February 2025 and even though had knee surgery still swollen and fluid on it.
As I've stated before Arthur does not like cold!
