Not so cold this morning. Sitting by the woodstove with Rosie the wonderdog. She's a bit of a nut job--scratches to go out, turns around and scratches to come in, then won't come in. Scratches more and barks. We have a communication gap or something. Last night she went berserk barking as a coyote walked through the yard. Good watchdog.
Last night DS and I went to my place and we hoisted the piano up on a dolly to turn it around and lowered it over on its back using a "piano tilter" I got it on Craigslist a few years ago. Scary experience first few times, but amazingly easy way to lay an upright piano on its back. Like a big rocking chair that straps onto the back of the piano.
Lee, that's big country out there. The mtn range goes on higher and higher!
DD & fam come home this evening; I go home this afternoon; dog will be okay a few hours. Will make another trip to Home Depot here first to see if they fixed the overcharge for the rental truck yet. Still shows up on my credit card online, so I filed a dispute with Bank of America. PITA.
I wish everyone a blessed Christmas.0 -
Good morning gentlemen.
Should be a quiet day around our house, today. I will make ahead the corn pudding for tomorrow's supper. Other than that, I have nothing on my to-do list. Maybe I'll male some shavings in the shop. The Christmas Eve candlelight service is at 7:30 tonight, where I'll be singing in the choir. have a day of peace, too, my friends.0 -
Merry Christmas Eve!
Lee, what a beautiful place! You are Blessed! And it is winter, imagine in the Spring and Summer. Yup, you won't last in CT as long as you think you might. 🤣
It will be a quiet day around here today. Maybe a little light housekeeping, but otherwise we will just enjoy the time with each other.
Bill, I saw the pics on FB. Happy days! You need at least a small Christmas Tree at the new digs. Or your special wreath on the front door there.
Prayers continue for Sam and Joanne.
Have a Blessed and wonderful day with family.0 -
Good Morning
Lee, I am excited for you and DW as you get ready to celebrate your first Christmas in your new home.
We finally took possession of our home yesterday just before 5pm yesterday. After we thanked our realtor and said good bye, we were among some of the happiest of couples. Everything was finally resolved and they did a nice job leaving the house good to go. We made a few notes on things we will need to get but decided to head back to Eugene and now will focus on our scaled down family Christmas. Our son made it in. Today we will finish up some Christmas prep. Heather will make enchiladas for dinner and then we will head off for a Christmas light exhibit we have tickets too. I thought we might be going for a family walk but the weather has other ideas. Perhaps a movie.0 -
Afternoon gents.
It is big country and the views are pretty amazing. It would be cool if we were just a wee bit further from urban sprawl. DW likes the availability of all the shopping options that come with urban sprawl. 15 min from a Walmart. That is closer than we are to one in CT.
Prayers for Joanne and Sam.
Congrats to you, Bill. So excited and happy for you. It's been a journey.
The feasts begin tonight.
Went for a walk with DS#2 and got this shot of Monument Rock against the eastern range.
Onward and downward ;-)
