Hi, just started Jan 1. I weaned myself slowly off of veggies and sweets. I’m not a sweets person, but did used to have sugar in my coffee and a piece of chocolate here and there. I’ve lost 5 pounds so far.
I log my food into MFP, have ring goals on my watch, and I try to remind myself everyday in my wellness journal to be goal oriented by setting easy. Concise goals to easily achieve, and I show daily gratitude. It’s been going well and I’ve got a good start.
My challenges are that I have a family, so I am trying to play it all smart by not cooking extra meals, but having the things I don’t eat just separate from the main course. We are handling it. My husband pulled my stir fried meat off the grill before he added noodles and veggies to everyone else’s. He’s a great guy and supports me everyday. Another challenge is that I go back to work this coming Monday and I’m trying to figure out what I can prepare and pack. I’m more of a Sunday prepper for the week because I’m too tired and/or busy during the week. 4-5 day old meat doesn’t quite appeal to me, so this will be the challenge. I think I’ll be making a lot of seasoned hamburger meat and bacon, but I’m open to trying the pizzas I see floating around made out of chicken crust. IDK.
I love to wake up and eat 3 eggs with a turkey burger patty. We have our own chickens and I eat eggs only for breakfast. I get hungry between meals still even though I feel I eat a ton!
I was vegan for 6-7 months when I got really sick and didn’t know why. I had these reoccurring gut pains everyday and they came back the next year the same time of year, so I figured it was stress from my job (I want to leave but can’t) or food allergies. The vegan diet helped a bit for a while, but when I came off of it, I felt fine. I feel great on carnivore!!
Anyways, I’m here to talk and to share. I’m probably just talking to myself through this long read no one will see, but it felt good putting it all into words. I’m happy to be here if anyone wants to be a MFP Pal.
