Congratulations to Bill and Heather on their new home. I'd drop off a bottle of wine and a loaf of bread if I weren't 3000 miles away.

19º here but wind has abated, and supposed to get into the 30s today. Went for a short hike yesterday afternoon, after fixing EX's leaky toilet. Bitter cold, and while shifting layers of gloves and mittens on and off I must have dropped one of my mitten shells. Will drive back out to trailhead this morning to find it. From Outdoor Research -- a bit pricey, but keep the cold fingers warm, though I often need handwarmers, too. Raynaud's phenomenon--my hands and feet get cold very easily and don't warm up unless I apply heat or exercise vigorously for a good while.

Plumbing store guy told me the way to fix an ex-wife's toilet is to make it worse so she won't ask again... Similar advice on changing GK's diapers, etc. Entertaining day at least.

DB turns 80 tomorrow. He's getting a laminectomy soon for debilitating spinal stenosis. They said day surgery! I will go visit him, lives about 3 hrs away.

    Have a good day.

    Onward and downward...

    Good morning!

Mike, safe travels to your brother. Prayers for a successful surgery and rapid healing.

Yippee! for Bill and Heather! Their house will be unpacked today. Woot!

We had another 2-3 inches of snow on top of what we already have, and they are talking more snow next week. Our annual average is something like 18", and some years we get below 10". We are above 18" now with the rest of the season still to go. Ugh.

Housework is complete except for laundry. I'll be taking it pretty easy today.

    Have a great day!

    Mornin' gents

Congrats on the arrival of the POD. Now to get it unpacked.
Well wishes for a succesful surgery for DB, Mike. Funny what plumber advised on fixing Ex's toilet.
    Hope Joanne is feeling OK.
Got knee replacement set up for Feb 17th. Xrays were ugly.
    Biannual with Primary was good.

    Onward and downward ;-)

    Good morning gentlemen.

Recall Sam saying the effects of Joanne's chemo would kick in today. Thinking of her - and Sam - and praying it won't be too bad.

I went through a laminectomy a year ago, Mike. Recovery was tedious but the results were well worth it. Hope it goes as well for your brother.

It's raining this morning but will clear in the afternoon and get up to 50 degrees. Dry forecast for the next week.

Down a couple lbs. on the scale yesterday. Still on the wrong side of 170. Progress.

Good Morning from the snowy South,
Not our normal cotton snow but cold wet white stuff.
I'm blaming this stuff on Steve and you in NE.
Prayers for Mike's brother, and yes if we make a mess of something, sometimes they will not request help again but then we care too much for folks to not do properly.
Joanne did not sleep at all last night and does not feel too well but said if I fix breakfast she will eat, I call that a good sign, I do not want to be sick but she is losing weight.
Congrats on getting stuff moved into house today!

Oh Mike I get the cold hands thing. I use boiled/felted woolen mittens (not as thick or as good as they use to be but help) plus silk liners, plus Gortex like mitten shells AND some small zippo battery powered warmers inside. WiMp indeed I am. It was 35 deg and raining today and I wore that combination to keep my hands warm. Worked great.
Good luck to your brother Mike and his surgery!

Yup holding Joanne in my prayers too with all she is having done.

Gosh Lee getting new body parts on Feb 17th ...sorta a belated Valentine's Day gift?? haha.

Yup like Dave we expect rain all morning of about 1/2 inch or more and then dry this afternoon. Taking a friend and her husband out tonight for her B-day dinner. She is an amazing (in my book) survivor of pancreatic cancer and is just checking off lots of stuff on her bucket list. She has already survived more than a couple of years and so far so good.
I survived the miserable wet bike ride today.l

    cheers.
