My laptop started up with the keyboard programmed for Germany, which I use occasionally, but there was no English keyboard. Had to go poking around in System Settings and reboot to get back to good ol' USA.
Today's DS Shawn's 50th birthday. His fiancee says his phone is broken so might not be able to call. Spent yesterday afternoon watching some football games. Saw the Patriots now have a new head coach. Hope springs eternal in New England.
Lee, heartbreaking pic of DGS and his dog. No words to describe... he'll be a great hunter someday.
Piano now has all its key whites, although the 7 new ones don't match their darker neighbors. Will try sunshine-bleaching treatment, and maybe hairdresser peroxide. Devised a muffler rail of Home Depot corner moulding and felt, to use when practicing so neighbors aren't disturbed. Now ready to finish regulating the action-- setting key-dip, back-checking and bridle wires and then damper lift. Then a final tuning. Eventually will probably sand the grooves out of the felt hammers, which will mellow the sound, but for now it will at least be playable. I was amazed to learn how complicated a piano action is when I first started learning all this from books and videos.
Steve ole buddy, we're going to order a straight jacket for you if you don't behave. Please get those ribs healed up so you can get back into action again!

Mornin' gents.
DDIL swears the kid will be a veterinarian. I imagine he'll enjoy hunting too, but he'll for sure enjoy working with spaniels.
Can you play Piano Man, Mike? I don't think Billy Joel knows the intricacies of the piano like you do. The internal workings of the piano are much more complicated than I ever knew. You have taught me many things piano that I would never have known if I hadn't read your posts. It is a wondrous musical instrument for sure.
Joanne still feeling nauseous and tired? Is DMIL even aware of the diagnosis?
Spent most of morning and early afternoon cleaning and straightening the house up. I took photos to prove to DW that I did a proper job.
House showing went well yesterday. Hope they can wrangle a loan.
Onward and downward ;-)

Good morning!
2 degrees in Kansas this morning. Ugh!
My rib is feeling a little better this morning. It seems like the pain comes and goes. That is probably related to my activity, or lack thereof.
A few simple chores today, but should be another day of mostly holding the chair to the floor.
Lee, prayers for your DDIL family. It is sad to lose an old friend like that. Great picture.
Have a great day!0 -
Good morning gentlemen.
Frost on the lawn this morning but should be another dry day with some winter sunshine. The whole week looks like that: lows in the high 20s, highs around 40. Great weather for January.
Nothing on our calendar today, so I should manage some shop time.
I was down another pound, yesterday, despite a "lack of regularity." So, progress is being made in getting back to my happy place.0 -
Good Morning
Lee, I am glad to here it went well with the house. Hopefully financing, etc will come together and you can avoid the putting the house on the market stuff.
We are going to finally shift to the house today, a day early. We are also finally able to go to the DMV now that we have are documentation. We have lots to do yet at the house, but it will be nice to finally be settled in our own place. 3 years of various stages of temporary living have taken a toll. I am eager to get in my prayer/music room.0 -
Good Morning,
Up early to take Joanne for doctor appointment, took Pablo with us and walked him around while Joanne was in doctor's office, ice and snow still showing in spots including parking lot.
Tomorrow will take him to doggie daycare because there are two appointments in Athens, surgeon then oncologist.
Now I need a nap, have lodge tonight.
Neighbors have been a great blessing; fridge is full of bland foods just needing to be heated for Joanne.

Oh Sam just thinking about you and DW and sending lots of prayers your way.
Lee: Oh I just can't imagine. such a sweet picture of DGS and his "nanny dog" indeed. Yup I can see him being a vet like you some day. Hope the house deal works out.
Ja Mike... Wie gehts!!
Interestingly sometimes one of my links wants to come up in Portuguese . re-boot.
Yup put off riding this morning with frost and a touch of freezing fog at times. Should start below freezing all week like Dave.
Will ride later. I can't afford to slip on frosty/icy spots.
Cheers all.

Good Morning
Sam, We just prayed for you two as you work through this. Blessings
We spent our first night in our house. We are that point in unpacking where it seems a bit chaotic. But,we are very happy. I have the basics of my prayer area set back up and a dulcimer ready for tuning. But today we run back to the condo and clean as part of the check out. Then groceries will be purchased and I will start cooking again. I just had my first home pour over coffee in ages. We take the afternoon off. The local theater is having a Winter Humphrey Bogart movie festival with a film every Tuesday. Today is "Roaring Twenties". The theater is somewhat similar to our beloved Pub Cinema back in California. Happiness abounds!0
