Steve's Chiefs survive the Texans. Did the refs give the Chiefs a hand?
Commanders upset the Lions.
Did I watch a game? No. Got the low down from Yahoo Sports. I vow to do better today.
So glad Joanne was feeling better yesterday. How was dinner? I would miss spicy dishes, and maybe a little of the greasy, like brisket, or pulled pork, or duck confit (kidding, I had it once, but it was good).
Running a marathon was never something I wanted to do. I admire folks that can or have run them, but even for elite runners, it is a harsh distance. The first guy to do it died. Just saying.
How did chili and football go with DS, Dave?
Got my wee tractor back just in time for snow tonight and into tomorrow.
Did some training with the girls yesterday. Hope to do some conditioning work with them today.
Did a panko and dill encrusted salmon last night. I usually either do a high heat cook with a spicy rub or pan sear, but had a load of dill I needed to use up. It was OK, but I prefer my usual methods.

Good Morning,
I'm having a hard time losing, seem to be stuck at 220.
Temps have dropped 4 degrees since I got up and took Pablo out, will drop into 20's through the day.
Heavy fog now, snow forecasted for Tuesday and Wednesday.
We went to Chinese last night, she ate bland low fat I ate spicy General Toes
Hope all have a great day/0 -
Morning. Been AWOL since Thursday for some reason. Icefishing Friday, four fish, on “Webster Lake” . 4-1/2” of ice, and DD came to visit us 1/2 hour and was unnerved by the eerie cracking sounds lakes make as temps change.
Yesterday did more work on Steinway, tipping over onto its back to tighten tuning pins with thin superglue dripped down into the wood pinblock. Also started cleaning corrosion off the pins so my tuning lever (a wrench) will fit on and off smoothly.
Went out to eat while superglue fumes cleared, a Mexican Cantina. The five TVs with sound plus background Mexican music gave me a headache, but the burger and fries were really good. Couldn’t wait to get out of there. Must be getting old.
In the 30s today, plunging to a spell of single digits with windchills of -15°, not getting out of teens, days. Will thicken ice up. Expecting 4”-8” and maybe 10” of white stuff tonight. Time to shellac the snowshoes.0 -
Road to “Webster Lake” with its real name.

Good morning gentlemen.
Glad to hear Joanne is getting through things as well as can be expected.
That name looks made up, doesn't it, Mike? Love the Anglicized spelling of indigenous words. We have a lot around here, too, but they aren't super long, just hard to pronounce sometimes.
We're in the 20s this morning, heading for 42. No rain forecast for the next week.
Church this morning, then I am taking a couple large bowl blanks to another guy's shop to get them cored out. I'll get at least four bowls, maybe six, rather than just two and a mountain of shavings.
Watched the first game and didn't see any egregious official errors favoring the Chiefs. Only watched a bit of the 4th quarter of the late game, after DS went home. He isn't "in" to watching games where he lacks a connection to either team. I was pulling for the Commanders. There are a number of former Seahawks - including the head coach - on the team, as well as Marcus Mariota, a Duck. Who doesn't love an underdog, anyway?0 -
Good Morning
I had no idea Marcus Mariota was still in the NFL. I had high hopes for him coming out of college.
I too am glad to hear Joanne is handling her treatments fairly well so far. And I also miss spicy food, and remember when I couldn't tolerate any coffee. Seems cruel on top of the sickness and treatments. I still have issues that come and go with my digestive system. They acted up last night and this morning. I had some fried clams which probably was more than they could bear. You never now. I will scontinue to pray the Joanne's journey is uneventful and totally successful.
Yesterday we explored a bit and suddenly decided to visit Oregon Dune Recreation Area just across the bridge. With great determination and a lot of gasping we went up and over the dune to walk on the South beach. It took even more to get back up and over to the car. But my back took the strain, I was careful, and no lasting effects beyond fatigue and satisfaction. We will bring trekking poles next time to be safer and be able to go a bit further. Today we take it easy and just walk the neighborhood. We have to arrange things for tomorrows furniture delivery.0
