Thermometer says “0°” here — glad I don’t have a dog to walk.
Never went outside at all yesterday, instead worked on piano stuff mostly. Refurbishing wippens. Clean, lube with graphite, teflon powder or ProtekCLP, depending on the part, replace jack springs. Reattaching each wippen to the action was the hardest without three hands. 26 done, 62 more to go.
It’s so cold my old aluminum sliding door frames have frost buildup on the inside. Time to call “the guy” about new doors and windows.
Bill, glad you’re in the homestretch with moving and settling into your new home.
Sam, lots of icefishing going on around here finally. This is the first winter in a few years there’s been good ice for longer than a few days. My long-time fishing buddy says he’s going to Florida for a few weeks —middle of icefishing season! Has a girlfriend…told him priorities are mixed up.
Bob, is there weather you would never bike in?

Sam, hope DMIL is eating again. Sounds like she is lonely perhaps.
Dave, I find I need to put the brakes on buying stuff for hobbies It’s easy to get carried away, reality check now and then. DS used to carve and had chunks of wood in barrels of water, made his own bows for hunting, too. Nice thing to make stuff with one’s hands.

Good morning!
We are slowly warming up here, but there is still a lot of snow and ice on the ground.
Connie went to the eye doc yesterday, and she was told that she has swelling in her right eye due to blood sugar imbalance. Connie has had Type II diabetes for about 15 years now. Since I retired, I have been doing all of the cooking (my choice). So, we have to alter our diet and start eating better around here. This is made more difficult because Connie is also anemic, and has IBS issues. There is a narrow band of foods that she can really tolerate. So how to stay within those bands and not have it be boring all of the time. We'll get there. Key items are off the list like eggs, dairy, cabbage. I just have to do more studying.
I hurt my rib yesterday so more rest today. I did too much bending and stretching yesterday putting together a new plant stand.
Sam, be careful with all that snow down there! Wow!

Good morning gentlemen.
Had a good meeting with the guy managing the trust. Also inspected all the work that has been done on the house. Still a bit to finish before it gets officially listed.
Our weather isa the same - 25 degrees this morning, heading to 41 this afternoon. I am waiting around for a guy to come and fix my "new" recliner - again. The last fix came apart again. Hope he does a better job this time.0 -
Good Morning
A nice day ahead with temps in the mid 50's. I had a list of stuff I hoped to do today but Heather wants to go exploring. I am eager to make progress as I am beginning to feel better. Today I also brush off the old Crock Pot which has been in storage for the last 2 1/2 years and rarely the last few years prior as well since it was stored in a spot that my back didn't like getting to. Not so Irish Beef Stew this morning which I switched to a dutch oven years back. Don't have any stout so I will be using red wine hence the "Not so Irish". My son has just about fixed his car window and we should be able to be able to move around the garage and rearrange things.0 -
DMIL continues to show her posterior, refusing to eat and take her medicine. All doctor offices and urgent cares are closed, hospital says they have over a twelve hour wait. If doctor opens tomorrow will take DMIL in, DW has an appointment with GP and since she is seeing so many specialists believe she is fine and will let DMIL take DW's appointment. Plus DW's blood is being run weekly.
Snow and ice melting fast this afternoon.0
