February 4th is celebrated as "World Cancer Day"
World Cancer Day is an international day observed every 4 February to raise awareness about cancer, encourage its prevention, and mobilize action to address the global cancer epidemic.
So many of us may have a personal experience of our own, or a friend, or a loved one.

A good day. Lunchtime walk in the sun, physio wants me to try and train as I normally do when not injured and see how it goes. That did not happen tonight as she needled the one area which always leaves me a bit tender for a while. Did finish the day with yoga and was week under budget even with the ice cream I succumbed to.

Thanks for the World Cancer Day links @deskjockey925, cancer sucks. I lost both my parents to it, it really makes you understand that line they use "passed away recently after a short illness". There are way too many people in this day and age still passing away after a short illness, yet the American food industry stuffs everything they can with crap that makes us sick and then the hospitals/big pharma that are supposed to help shake you down for every penny. It makes me so angry.3 -

Intentional pass day. Plenty of activity and upper body strength workout, but tonite was a Lunar New Year celebration with a wonderful meal. I couldn’t properly track the delicious Chinese food so I just enjoyed in moderation.3

It's helpful to remind us how much we can do to fight and prevent this disease.
While I have not had a cancer diagnosis, I have been touched by many who have. And yes, it does turn your world upside down! In my younger days, cancer = immediate death, and that is SOOO not the case.
My immediate family
My Mother - Diagnosed 1997, Passed 1998
My Sister - Diagnosed 2021, given only 3 months to live , Passed 2023
My Husband - Diagnosed 2020 - Cancer Free
Pass days = 22/2 ~ bad start/grandson weekend. Ended with unplanned pizza
