5º. Not taking a morning stroll like I planned...

Hiked into a remote pond yesterday, about a mile, to check out the ice and the depth of the water. Pond is about the size of two football fields and only 5 feet deep. Ice was 8 inches thick. Would be fun to go ice fishing there, but I'll bet there's no fish in there.

Going to check the salt content of my food a little closer, because I think that contributes to the swollen calves.

This has been a cold cold January. Next town west of us had 13 below last week. Most days hasn't gone above freezing, and nights are mostly single digits.

    Good morning!

Mike, I agree. It has been a cold, cold January. Three weeks after the big snow, and we still have snow on the ground. Ugh.

My weight has gone up three pounds since I broke my rib and have been more inactive. I'm hoping that the better eating trying to help Connie will also help me.

Nothing much planned for today except maybe a few chores.

    Have a great day!

    Mornin' gents.

7 degrees here this AM. Better than -7º. Ice fisherman will benefit in February as the temperatures turn a bit milder.
I saw were the Seahawks are losing Pete Carroll to the Raiders. Carroll has long been one of my favorite head coaches, and him going to the Raiders is almost as concerning as going to the Cowboys. He has done the Seahawks a good job, and I was thinking he would finish out there. Hope it works out for him in Vegas. Maybe Dave and Rita will do a combo trip in the fall when they hit the strip and get in an NFL game as well.
Looking forward to watching the games tomorrow.
Going to do some dog training today.

    Onward and downward ;-)

    Good morning gentlemen.

Well, Lee, Pete left the Seahawks a year ago. I wish him well, though the Raiders are a team I have rooted against since the AFL days. As you say, at least it wasn't the Cowboys. We have reservations in Vegas in June, so no football. Airline prices are up (along with most things) so Rita says she'd rather take the airfare money to gamble in local casinos rather than head to Nevada.

It's 24 degrees in Tumwater this morning. Not single digits but cold enough for me. Sassy woke me up at 5 to go out and do her business. She hasn't done that in a long while.

    Good Morning

I was never a Pete Carroll fan. His time at USC was less than pure and back when I followed the Niners, the Seadoves were the enemy and Pete Carroll was as big a jerk as our coach. We got about as far as we could shifting things into our shed. We didn’t plan on our sons car being parked in the garage so long and having all his stuff. So we are taking it slow doing what we can. Not sure what today will bring.

Bob, if we kept our bikes out in the storage shed would it do them any harm. It doesn’t leak but it is colder and more humid. Damprid can only do so much
