Bill, keeping you and your family in prayer. Losing a parent at any age is still difficult. Connie's mom passed away at 81, six years ago yesterday.
We are expecting measurable snow Tuesday/Wednesday. I was able to get the snow blower out of the shed and into the garage. I have to do some work on it to get it ready for a snow. It is about 10 years old and showing some age. We don't get enough snow to justify a newer one. I want to get the driveway clear, however, to reduce my chances of falling.
Our 9 year old washing machine was making bad noises and not working well. I called the appliance doctor and he said that the average life of a Maytag washing machine is 6 years. We were lucky. He refused to even look at it. By what I described, the bearings and gaskets are shot. So.... We went over to giant size Nebraska Furniture Mart and bought a new one yesterday that will be delivered and installed tomorrow. Sigh.... We have the savings, but are trying to protect those. We scored 18 month zero interest financing. That's the way to go.
Connie does not like to exercise. I need to find a good way to encourage her to walk more. We did do a lap around NFM yesterday. That store is so huge. I estimate that was about .4 mile on one lap. NFM is owned by Warren Buffet. We saw him there one time with Bill Gates. That was cool.
30 degrees this morning. I sat in the hot tub (outside) for about 20 minutes pre-dawn. It was awesome.

I'm so sorry about your mother, Bill. I went through the same situation last year. A peaceful passing is the best we can hope for, but it is sad none the less. Prayers, brother.
Instead of shop time, yesterday, we took Sassy out for a walk. It was chilly, but pleasant to stretch our legs a bit. Hoping for a quiet day at home, today.0 -
Good Morning
Thank you for your support. I am heading out to Racine as soon as I can work out flights etc, but forgot what a pain it is to fly from here. Generally you need to be in Eugene for a 5:30-6:30am flight. Not a great drive to make at 3:30 am on a dark winding road that can have black ice in the wee hours. Yesterday we walked the beach north of town. Rather cool, but a light breeze. We ended up trying to avoid crossing a riverlet draining into the shore. We ended up climbing up a part of a dune, crossing logs and rocks only to find there was no "easy" way across, but we made it fairly dry. It was quite peaceful til then! I might might need to buy an actual winter coat.0
