Oh my gosh!!! I have 300,000 steps so far in March!!!! WOOT WOOT!! 🎉 I am not sure I have ever done that although I probably did from 2012-2017 when I was really fit. Looking back at my exercise logs, everything seemed to change after my surgery to repair an incarcerated ventral hernia. I wonder if there is any connection to that and my slow decline in iron? I am going to ask my MD at my next visit. My CBC on discharge in 2017 showed my hemoglobin was at the lowest normal level, which is not great. Interesting though.
You can get that medallion @Deeder522! Two moves is a piece of cake! If I can do 300,000 steps 2 months after not being able to get off the couch, you can do 2 moves! LOL 🤣
Again @megd44, thank you for pointing out the Garmin Challenges! I have had such a good time this month watching my progress on challenges and expeditions! I get up and walk across the room rather than picking some thing up later "when I go by" to increase my steps. 😀 It has been fun to challenge myself and I am grateful to you for mentioning them.
@Elfirose33 you are walking 40 minutes a day which is roughly 3 miles! 3 miles a day is awesome!!!
It has snowed all day today! This is getting ridiculous now! LOL In total for two days of constant snow, we have about and inch! 😜 It has made the dirty snow white again, but that is about it! It has not been above freezing all day though so it is cold. Tomorrow it is supposed to get up to 41-bye bye snow! 😃 Grocery and errand day tomorrow so I'll be back Friday! 😋

I did a very low enthusiastical 15-minute cardio blast with Jessica Smith this morning.
Nothing on the schedule for the next few days, so maybe I can turn my attention to some Spring cleaning. It looks like we have a temporary boost in temperatures for the weekend.0 -
@Elfirose33 do you have a Tai Chi recommendation? I have been interested but don't know where to start.
@zichab great job on your steps!! 300,000 is a huge accomplishment in a short time. The Garmin challenges are fun and really do motivate me.
@Deeder522 spring cleaning is a major workout! Looking forward to the warmer temps for sure.
I seem to have hit an old school WAH stretch. Yesterday I did the 2 mile Special Cut with Bands from the Ultimate 5 day workout series and today I did the 3 mile Walk off the Pounds. They both felt like what I needed for the moment. Overall I need to incorporate more strength training, so will figure that out next month.

I stumped across some other WAH videos on YouTube but not on the official page. The video I did was a quick 12-minute called The Green Mile from Ultimate 5-Day Walk Plan. I don't remember this DVD, do any of you?
Can you believe it's Friday?! We made it through the week, and we roll over to April next week. I'm so grateful for all of you showing up and posting here. It wasn't so long ago that I was here by myself.
I'm waiting for the rain to start but it looks like it will be done by lunch and maybe the sun will come out just in time to set.Have a good and strong weekend!

Thursday was my rest day. And yesterday I got a massage instead of exercising, which was just what I needed 💜
@zichab Congratulations on 300,000 steps, that's outstanding!! ⭐️ And, cool! Thanks for telling me that! (That 40 minutes is 3 miles). Knowing that has a very nice ring to it! 😊
@Deeder522 I need to do some spring cleaning too. It's so good to be here. Thank you for holding down the fort! 🙏
@megd44 That's wonderful that you want to get started doing Tai Chi! I highly recommend this organization and website: There's a ton of information on the site and there's also a search page somewhere under the Tai Chi section that will help you locate Tai Chi classes in your area. When I got started, it really helped me to be in a group class to actually see someone in front of me. This website also offers DVDs for purchase. Let me know if you have any questions and keep me posted. All the best to you!

Sorry I was MIA yesterday. Dennis and I went out to breakfast and something did not agree with me. I was nauseous most of the day, so I moved my workout to today instead. It may mean I can only manage 4 miles instead of 5 tomorrow, but that is OK! My goal is one 4 mile walk each week so 5 is overkill! 🤣
@Deeder522 I have the DVD with the colored miles on it. There is the green mile, yellow mile, red mile, blue mile and purple mile for a total of 5 miles. It's in the Just Walk series and it is called Ultimate 5 Day Walk Plan. There is a different walk for each day of the week, or you can customize your walk by color. It is one of her more varied DVDs. Dennis loves it because he can do 1 mile a day and choose a different color so he does not get bored! 🙄
Is the website you found with Leslie's walks on it Legwarmers N' Lunges? If so that is the one I was talking about on the 25th when I did Walking Down Your Blood Sugar. I had always seen a mile from that video on Leslie's site, but Legwarmers N' Lunges had the whole workout posted. I am surprised she has been allowed to keep them up as Leslie's corporation made everyone take them down a few years ago when she developed her own site. She has some of the 5 mile ones on there as well. I book marked it.
@megd44 The Ultimate 5 Day Walk Plan (2012) is not as old school as some of Leslie's earlier videos that featured Linda, Mary Kay and Joanne among others, but it is older than her current crop of muscle bound young people that is for sure! It has 5 "Daily Strength Sessions" she calls them, one for each day of the week. I never did those because I used her Firm 30 Workout from the Walk it off in 30 Days DVD or the Tone very Zone Walk when I had more time. Are the strength sessions good? If so, maybe I'll try a couple when I begin to focus on strength workouts again. Keep me posted.
Wait until you hear this one!! We are under a Winter Ice Storm Warning!!! 😡 We are supposed to get 1/2 -3/4 of an inch of ice buildup from freezing rain, sleet, rain and snow! No precipitation know to man will miss us except hail!!! Honestly, what next!!! 🙃 On the good side, our loons are back!!!!!! We spotted them on Thursday, so Spring is on the way and the lake will not freeze over again! Woo Hoo!!!! I am taking my wins where I can get them at this point! LOL If we have power tomorrow, I will be back to post my 4 mile walk. Until then-enjoy not having ice falling on you and your house! 🤣

Today I walked for 40 minutes (20 minutes with Dottie). I am getting better at walking up and down hills, and this is so exciting! I only got winded today at the very very top of the steep hill, whew! 😜 Was breathing hard right after that, but it's getting so much easier overall, which makes it more enjoyable now. Progress is fun! 😊
@zichab I hope you're feeling better. Hang in there through the Winter ice warning. This, too, shall pass! That's good news about the loons' arrival, and hooray for all the good news they bring! 💛 Excellent job on all your workouts, way to go!

Yesterday, Ry felt up to a walk. .75 Miles is a good improvement for him. He even tried to do pull-ups at the Fitness court. Tried being the highlighted word there. He's lost a lot of his upper body strength.
@zichab Yes! That is the Page. It was also mentioned in one of the FB Groups for Leslie. Legwarmers N Lunges- it looks like it added the videos last month, but the page was created in 2011. 🤷🏼♀️ I'll see if I can work my way through all the colors in April.

Hey all. Sorry I have been MIA, some super busy days here with deadlines and visitors.
@Elfirose33 thanks for the Tai Chi recommendation. I'll check out the website. And great job tackling the hills!
@zichab way to knock your goals out. The strength on the ultimate plan was ok. I like the ones in the Mega Miles better. Hope your ice storm wasn't bad.
@Deeder522 that is great that you and Ryan got out for a walk. And thank you for being here for all of us and keeping this moving even when you were solo.
Did the mix and match workout b and added the flexibility walk on Friday. It felt great. Did 5 Mega Miles yesterday, the first two keeping pace walking while talking to Rich in the garage, lol. Did Burn to the Beat this morning.
Taking a look at my April plan and how to wrap in couch to 5k (C25k) so I can be ready to run with my nieces. The first couple of weeks are closer to jogging intervals, which is good because I think it'll still be too dark in the morning to run outside before work. Hope everyone has a great weekend. Hoping spring will truly arrive.

I can't believe I did it but I did the 5 miles!!! At mile 3, I was not so sure, but after a while, momentum just takes over. LOL
@Deeder522 I am so glad Ryan could get out for a walk. You know, maybe bands might be a way for him to build his upper body strength a little? I know he has to be careful about exerting too much, but they may help him keep what he has got and build a little without the exertion of trying to pull up his own body weight?
Thank you @Elfirose33 and @megd44 . The ice storm was a total fizzle as it went north of us. We got rain and 56F temps!!! I was ready for no power, water in pails for the toilets, water in pitchers for coffee, generator tested for the fridges, wood all in for the stoves, gas in the grill for cooking and boiling water, phones and ipads all charged up etc. So, OF COURSE there was no power outage!!!! 🤣 On the positive side, I got my 5 mile workout in and got to talk to my granddaughter so it was all good!
I think I am taking a rest day tomorrow. so I'll be back on Tuesday with my end of month summary, which will be the best one I have had in a LOOOOONNNNNNGGGGG time!!! 😃
2 -
Today… AM: 40 minutes walk (20 minutes with Dottie) & PM: 20 minutes walk with Dottie.
@Deeder522 Three cheers for Ry's walking and pull-up efforts! I agree with @zichab that the bands may really help bridge the gap.
@megd44 You're so welcome. And thanks! Sounds like a tough schedule you're navigating, hang in there 🧡
@zichab Bummer when you're ready for everything and then nothing happens. Good job getting ready though! Great job getting your 5 miles! Have a wonderful rest day tomorrow and I'll look forward to reading your amazing end of month summary 💜

All Challenges met except the Toubkal Circuit which I will carry into next month!
I don't think anyone except @Deeder522 can imagine how good I feel after a month like this. I've been so tired for the last 5 years and had no idea why. I love to exercise, but have only been able to manage 1 or 2 miles and many weeks, none at all. The last time I was even close to this many miles was in October of 2018 when I did 165.7 miles. Who knew that all this time my iron and hemoglobin was going down and down and down! 🤷 Gosh I am so glad to back and thank you all for the encouraging words and being here!!!! ❤️
March will be hard to beat, but on to April! 😃
2 -
@zichab Wow, outstanding job!!! Congratulations to you on so many levels! I'm tickled pink I got to be here now and see you do it! I hope you bask in the glow of all of your accomplishments in March—-all the way through April! You are on your way now!! ⭐️
