@Katmary71 Water retention is a nasty little thing. One gallon of water weighs eight pounds. Consuming more salt than you need will make your body retain close to two quarts of fluid (four pounds). A night of heavy drinking will retain up to a full gallon. Your finger were telling the story and I'm with you…. my brain goes into panic mode if I don't calm myself down when I can't get rings or sports bras off!

ICE BREAKER QUESTION: What do you want to buy?
I would love to have an infrared sauna of my very own. @Katmary71 mentioned a catio…would love that for Earl!

@trooworld - how was your trip to LA? After you pick her up, do you have to take her home?
@TeresaW2024 - congrats on getting the porch cleaned. There is still pollen floating around here- I can't wait til that ends. Gus likes to "hunt" lizards- he knows where they hide, and does rounds to check all the spots. He's never caught one, but the chase is fun. He doesn't bark, so I don't mind. How is Maggie's leg doing? I hope you find an Easter shirt. You will make IT look beautiful!
@AnAbsoluteDiva - that is some great analyzing you are doing and what a WOW picture!
@DrewsAnna - that sounds like a scary feeling. How was the soccer game? did you finish the afghan you were working on?
@vegan4lyfe2012 - that is a lot of food problems. I'm glad you were able to turn the beans into something. I am wishing you some awesome food and beautiful nature days this week.
@Katmary71 - I don't know what snap screens are. 😥 I will say that I do not look at my notifications, I just look for my name in posts, so if that helps make the weigh in posts faster for you- great. I appreciate the time you give to this group. The situation with your Dad IS serious. Falls can be very serious. The frustrating part is that you can say all you want, but it's his decision. And you can't prevent people from making bad decisions. I've tried to accept that, but it's hard at times. Sending you a hug about that and about getting back on track.
Thanks to all for the work encouragement. I'm ready to go tomorrow!

@TeresaW2024 Thank you! And yes, we do! :D I'm glad to know about the paleo bars. I looked at the macros and I really should get something with a higher protein level but maybe I'll try them. Good to know about the fiber lol. Maggie! I think Violet would be the same way, Daisy wouldn't care lol. I have to refill my pill containers, I hate doing that. Good luck finding the perfect shirt!
@AnAbsoluteDiva Interesting about the alcohol. Thanks for sharing. Wow, great progress, you look great! That's how I want to look!
@vegan4lyfe2012 Oh honey, don't let that devil get you down! <3 I'm sorry the dip didn't turn out but glad you didn't give up and made it back into a dip. See, that's a lesson in perseverance! Big hugs to you.
@Katmary71 I don't know what a snap screen is either but what I do is I write my comments in Notepad, copy and paste it into the comment window, and then just bold people's names. I figure they'll see it that way. It's working out so far. Thank you! I would love an art/craft room. That would be so cool to have a catio. I'm sorry about the pain levels you are having. Hugs.
@Cornanda It was so-so (see below). She will be down here for a long time, my BIL is in a long-term care facility and needs 24 hour care. She keeps an eye on him and visits with him, she will likely be down here for 6 months or more. Eventually, I'll have to take her back up for a while. Good luck tomorrow!
Hi all. We got up to LA in 2 hours 20 mins: because we left so early, there was no traffic. HOWEVER, once we got there, my MIL was not ready to leave and took 3 HOURS to get ready despite knowing when we would arrive! We drove to Culver City (where all the movie studios are) and went to a really nice coffee shop that was also a bookstore. We each got a book and a coffee and sat and read for a bit. By the time my MIL was ready, it was noon and we didn't get home until 3:30 pm. It was exhausting driving in traffic. Today, I have a lot to do: I have to get new tires at Sam's Club, go grocery shopping, and do some other errands.

@AnAbsoluteDiva Alcohol will always stall my weight loss or give me a gain. It’s good that you recognize and aren’t upset by the scale number but understand how to make the number go back down. Thank you for sharing that you also have experience with Alzheimer’s. Being a caregiver is very hard, and I love that you are honoring your parents by living your best life. I’m determined to do that as well when I lose my precious husband. And wow, what a powerful photo! You are a rockstar!! 😎
@Katmary71 Ugh, I'm sorry you're in pain. I hope the weather improves so you can feel better. 😘
@Cornanda Maggie’s leg is doing fine now. I’m not sure what she did to make her hike it up that day, but she hasn’t since. Hopefully, it will stay down! I’m still looking for that shirt! 🙂
Good morning! We were hit with the storms at 2:00 a.m., and Maggie demanded to get in bed with us. Fortunately, the worst storms bypassed us, which I’m so thankful for. Watching the tornado damage is heartbreaking. 😥So, I’m thinking of doing calorie counting for a couple of weeks and seeing what is going on with the scale not moving. I suspect that my dinners need to be trimmed down. If I have to count the calories, it will ensure that I limit my ingredients because I HATE counting. 😂Have a good day!2 -

I need clarification, folks. I signed up for a 5% thingamajig (can't remember the name…. no disrespect intended) and that group has a spring cleaning challenge. I saw the same challenge on this thread. Which thread do I respond to? Is this group I'm in now a subgroup of 5%? I'd like to accept the challenge but do I have to do the tasks in order? They're counterintuitive to how I spring clean. I like to gut a room top to bottom including window screens and door frames but don't want to tip the apple cart or take credit for not doing it right.
Thanks for helping me understand this.
@TeresaW2024 I'm so sorry you're going through this with your husband. I hope you have help; my mom was a Size 6 so it was easy for me to carry her to bed when her legs didn't want to cooperate. There's a lot of physical work involved and little sleep or rest or time to leave the house. We become so laser-focused on the task at hand that a lot of things have to take a backseat or simply go by the wayside. My heart is with you.
@trooworld Your avatar is great. ;-) Come on over! I'll load up the barbell and get the music going. But seriously, even body weight is a big thing. When I have to step on that demonic stair stepper every morning and find my quads just can't take another step, I get off and do 20 deep squats with no weight slowly and give the glutes a workout. I'm still sweating like a beast and heart rate is still up there so it counts towards cardio. Push-ups against a wall is weight training. The we push and pull doesn't have to be metal. We carry enough weight to get the job done.
@Cornanda I have yet to see a spreadsheet, pie chart, bar graph, or Excel formula I didn't love. Ha ha ha

ICE BREAKER QUESTION: What do you want to buy?
I would love to buy the Freak Athlete Hyper Pro machine. I have the room for it but I need to be sure that I can't do everything it offers on the equipment I already have.

@sleepygirl79 Walk into your doctor's office buck naked and at 6 AM and the scale will tell the truth. It'll also teach him a lesson or two. ;-)

WEIGH IN UPDATE
WEIGH INS DUE NOW FROM THE FOLLOWING: @19shmoo69 @laurelfit57
Reminder To Weigh In Tomorrow To @vegan4lyfe2012 @bobboyardee @jellytree @AprilRaineyBattle @AnAbsoluteDiva@jellytree I just reported that you weighed in late in the Captain's Thread so they can remove the "No Weigh In" by your name on the spreadsheet and logged your new weigh in for last week. It means you're not qualifying for anything for the last week but you're up-to-date and won't be dropped.

@micaroo4 I’m with you an infared sauna AND a catio!
@Cornanda A snapped screen is when you have half the screen one window and half the other. Right now I have half my screen a Word document and half Mission Slimposssibles group so as I scroll through the posts I can reply in the document. I’m guessing you do something similar? Woohoo glad to hear your fighting spirit! Thanks for the hug!
@trooworld I’m thinking you and Cornanda know what it is from how you describe posting, it’s when half the screen is one window and half is a different window, I snap the spreadsheet and our group at first then close the spreadsheet and open a Word document to reply side-by-side. I actually just learned how to do this a few years ago when I was taking computer classes if you don’t know how to let me know and I’ll explain, it’s great when you need more than one window open. I’ll do the bolding too, I’m fine tagging for the Weigh In post but this one takes a long time plus it’s still putting 10 lines in between each comment. Hugs back! You have a lot to do today good luck with the crowds, guessing the next storm is going through there too? It’s crazy how exhausting sitting in traffic can be, I’m glad you found a great coffee shop to hang out at.
@TeresaW2024 Thank you! Aw sweet Maggie. Oh no I haven’t seen the damage yet I just turned on the news (just seeing it at the end of this, so sad to hear how many people passed away and the damage looks awful). We haven’t done a group challenge for awhile maybe it’s time for a logging challenge? I’ve been awful at logging lately.
GO MISSION SLIMPOSSIBLES in 3rd PLACE, rockin it! @vegan4lyfe2012 @AnAbsoluteDiva @Cornanda way to go top winners! And 45% in the green is awesome!
@AnAbsoluteDiva Are you referring to the March Week 3 Group Challenge- Spring Cleaning Challenge? If so it’s an all-group challenge where you post in that thread. If you’re referring to the 5% group (it IS a different group) @micaroo4 @micaroo4 and @19shmoo69 @19shmoo69 know more about it than I so I’ll defer to her. For the Fat2Fit challenge you can do it in whatever order you want and make it your own. Oh I think you’re talking about BOTH the Fat2Fit challenge and the 5% group.
@sleepygirl79 The doctor’s office weigh-ins are always tough especially in winter I think my boots alone are 5lbs!
Hi team! I got the main stuff done I needed to, cleaned out most the garage as my roommate is going to move her stuff into the garage until she moves at the end of May. She’s not doing it until the 31st but started saying how she was going to rearrange my stuff when I was leaving for Sacramento for class and I kinda bit her head off not to touch my stuff. I ran most of it to the shed but had been waiting for the storms to stop so my feet would hopefully unclench and make it easier to walk. I also caught up on work and got an HOA letter in the mail and vacuumed. Ate real heathy today, I decided to skip a workout since I’m flared up but will do some light stretching, take a bath, then go to bed early. Have a great Monday!
Logging challenge anyone?

Congrats to the whole team for achieving 3rd place and to @vegan4lyfe2012 and @AnAbsoluteDiva for making it into the top 3! Another shout-out goes to @Cornanda for making it onto the leaderboard...way to go!
@TeresaW2024 Poor Maggie, she's probably really afraid of storms, huh? I'm glad the storm passed quickly. I know you hate tracking so I hope you can figure out what is going on quickly.
@AnAbsoluteDiva I don't know anything about the 5% group, I hope someone can clarify it for you. Thank you! I would love to work out with you! :D I love how dedicated you are to your workouts. I definitely carry enough weight to get the job done lol. :) I looked up the Freak Athlete Hyper Pro machine, it looks like a nice piece of equipment. Have you ever heard of the Tonal? We have that. It's great, too.
@txcritter69 Great job!
@Katmary71 Oh, no I don't know that. I have two monitors and just utilize that. The new update is a hassle! There is a 60% chance of rain this afternoon here. Yes, it is crazy about traffic. Your roommate is moving? What happened with that? I am sorry to hear that, I thought everything was going well? I hope the flare-up passes today. I would love a logging challenge.
Hi all. This whole weekend went by very quickly. Yesterday's trip to Sam's Club was a success: it took about an hour for them to install the tires so while we waited, we walked around the shopping center parking lot and then into Ross and Kohl's. Then we went shopping in Sam's Club. Later, we went for coffee and read. I ordered Instacart delivery from Walmart as I knew I didn't want to take the time to go to Walmart, too. I made meatloaf for dinner with roasted asparagus.

@AnAbsoluteDiva Thank you! I’m in my fourth year as his caregiver, and you are right about how focused we have become on keeping them safe and well cared for. My prayer is that I can keep him home until the end. The unknowns of what we are heading into are stressful, but I can only take it one step at a time. 😕
@Katmary71 I’m always done with a good challenge, and since logging isn’t a thing I do, I need a reminder. It was 9 pm last night when I realized I hadn’t logged my dinner, but I was under my goal, which made me happy! 🙂 Is your roommate moving out of your place in May? Good job with healthy eating.
@trooworld Yeah, if she isn’t in our bed, she is running around barking her head off, but she settles right down the moment she is in our bed. Of course, if she had her way, she would always sleep in our bed, but that isn’t happening. Meatloaf and asparagus sound wonderful! 🙂
Good morning! Joe has a wellness check appointment with his primary care physician today, and we are taking the garden stuff to my niece. I also need to wash my car and run to Aldi. I will do a rebounder workout this morning since I don’t want water retention from lifting today. I am hoping for a loss tomorrow and to continue my green streak. 🙂1 -

I don't know how to stop eating late at night, short of locking myself in a hotel room.

Hi 👋
I managed to catch a bug, kept me in bed all day Saturday. Sunday, I got up and felt better as the day went on. Today, I think I'm ready to tackle the day.
The afghan is almost finished and then I just have to weave in the ends. I'm getting really excited to see the finished result.
I'm calling my dr to see if I can get in to talk to him/her.
2 -
@AnAbsoluteDiva Its a bit cold to be walking into anywhere buck naked. I'm sure it would teach him a lesson though. haha!
@bobboyardee I feel your pain. Eating at night is my weakness too. I wonder if it's because I stay up so late, that I actually do get hungry by the time bed rolls around.
I mentioned going to the doctor. Before, I was told by a different doctor I was pre-diabetic. My family doctor said I'm no where near that. Someone has their facts mixed up. I think it was the first doctor-did non-fasting labs and read them as fasting. Still working on getting my plantar fasciitis problem solved so exercise isn't so painful. I'd like to think I could do more once it's better.
My doctor also said I might be able to qualify for Wegovy. Has anyone else tried this? I'm interested, but a bit scared at the same time. Apparently this has way less side effects than Ozempic, but still have my concerns-because I like to worry apparently.
4 -
@bobboyardee - it's a habit, and habits can be broken! If you had medical tests scheduled for morning that required you to fast, you could do it, right? I promise, no one ever starved to death between dinner and breakfast. It's just a matter of saying that the kitchen is closed for the evening, and then find something to do and keep busy until bedtime. Bonus: you may sleep better if you don't snack after dinner.

WEIGH IN UPDATE
WEIGH INS DUE NOW: @AprilRaineyBattle @19shmoo69 @jellytree
Reminder To Weigh In Tomorrow To @FushiaKat @TeresaW20240 -
@trooworld Thank you! My roommate and I get along great but her daughter's going through a divorce and is in Oklahoma with four young kids so she's moving there to help her out in June. I would do the same thing in her shoes but I will definitely miss her. We both feel like we won the lottery with each other and if she returns to this area we may be roommates again. Oh my gosh Walmart on top of Sam's Club, Ross, and Kohl's would be way too much glad you did delivery, I'm worn out reading all that!
@TeresaW2024 Thank you, my roommate's moving end of May beginning of June. I'm excited for your niece to get all the garden stuff! I hope Joe's appointment went well.
@bobboyardee I'm working on the same thing it's so hard! Honestly the thing over the years that helped me the most was getting Invisilgn since I didn't want to have to reclean my teeth. What has been successful for you before? I DO have better luck if I brush and floss after dinner and only have tea but it's been awhile since I've been in the groove. What about going to your room after you're done eating would that help? If I'm feeling week being in the family room by the kitchen isn't smart for me. There's a group in the forums to stop night eating I've been in where you're posting to each other at night instead of munching, might be worth checking out. Great advice from @micaroo4 there's a reason she's our motivator!
@DrewsAnna I can't wait to see the afghan too do share a pic when it's done! I'm glad you're feeling better hope you had a great Monday.
@sleepygirl79 Oh geez that's ridiculous the physician read you as pre-diabetic when you aren't, sounds like they were rushing through the labs or the lab forgot to note it. I'm glad you DO NOT have pre-diabetes! I hope your plantar fasciitis improves soon. I haven't tried Wegovy but I think a few people in the group have.
Hi team! The last episodes of Yellowstone dropped on Peacock so my roomie and I are watching it right now. Got a lot done this morning I went to the bank, Walmart, and Trader Joe's (got wine for my neighbor's birthday) then got another tray of veggies started to replace ones I lost. Did my workout and got some more cleaning done then made the skinnytaste sweet potato black bean bowls, I have a lot of greens in the yard and it's perfect for that recipe. Going to go back to watching the show have a great Tuesday!

Let's challenge ourselves to log for the rest of the month! The above article has some great tips on logging, I do believe it's worth weighing and logging but also know it can become obsessive so think of what you can commit to and let's give it a go. I'm on LoseIt! too and am heading there now to log my day.

Quick pop in:
@Katmary71 @TeresaW2024 - of course weighing/measuring food is best, but you can find food guides where you estimate your food size by comparing to objects such as meat serving= a deck of cards.
@AnAbsoluteDiva - I did 5% challenge twice. I'm skipping the spring one. If you have questions, let me know- it's a little confusing at first because they have so many different threads going. Once you get used to it, it makes sense- it's just organized different than this group.
