Chilly and breezy in NW CT.

I got in 6K steps by taking a short hike with walking sticks and the girls and did my PT exercises yesterday afternoon, while deciding to go tramadol free yesterday. I have been tapering down to just an afternoon dose and then a bedtime dose. Well, no amount of icing and tylenol calmed down the ache last night and I had to break down and take a tramadol. I will try to go tramadol free today but will do my PT this am.

Spoke to M at 6:30 am EST and she had already been on the road for 2 1/2 hours.

Sam, I think I would like you to be in my foxhole when the pooh hits the fan. Joanne is very fortunate to have you in hers.

Girls were ecstatic with the short hike we took. First time since before replacement surgery.

M made me some spicy turkey sausage and chickpea pasta bake before she left for my dinner last night. Very, very good, but…hits your gut like a bean heavy chili. Gotta be real careful with the portions.

Peepers were a peeping last night.

    Onward and downward ;-)

    Good morning gentlemen.

Great that you got out for that hike, Lee.

Sam is an inspiration. Heck, you all are.

    Steady rain, here, all day.

Went to a reception yesterday, for the new pastor at our church. He will preach this morning, then the congregation will meet to vote on whether to officially offer him the position. That's the Presbyterian way: all authority arises from the people. Looking forward to hearing him preach.

Grilling chicken legs tonight, rather than last night. DW informed me I was mistaken in my scheduling. We'll ask DS and family to come help eat all the chicken - or our leftovers will be frozen for later consumption by the old couple.

    Mornin’

Hike with DD went well. Spent a good while on the peak enjoying the sunshine and the view. Started out cold with some icy sections on the trail in the shady pine woods. Finished around one and found a nice pub in a small town driving home. Had a Reuben sandwich and fries, only finished half. Nice day all around; told DD it made my week.

Piano action cradle came in the mail, contraption to hold the mechanism for the 88 notes, rotated to any angle while you work on the parts, like a rotisserie. Played with that to fix some sluggish hammers and cockeyed dampers.

Sunny and cold here today. Talk of snow maybe later in week.

Time to plan some summer camping trips with family.

Church this evening. Prayers for healing for you all and your families.

    Onward and Downward

    Good Morning

Congrats on that first hike Lee!

It began to rain on my home from the grocers so we had to put off our walk. Heather got our later for one but my gut was in rough shape so I just shut down, rested and waited it out. A few errands but mostly getting stuff done. Once Heather is up we will explore a new trail the town opened. I read my preliminary kidney scan report. They didn’t find any of the scary stuff he was checking for. Just a small kidney stone. So no answers but perhaps my appt net month will give some guidance.

Been churched, DW stayed home since she has a bad cough; do not think she is sick since she is still on 15 mg of prednisone, pollen here is very heavy- spring has sprung. She can now go about five hours without oxygen and she O2 levels stay above 90.

Highs predicted to be in 70's next week, may move plants to porch.

Spent hour and half on phone with AT&T because have not received any e-mails in two days, reset password but said it would take eight days to recover e-mails; told them to skip it I not fooling with next week.

    Good news on scan Bill

Lee sounds as you are trying to push recovery of knee; slow and steady, do not want to redo pain is an indication of overuse and/or infection, you learned this in medical school.

Enjoy chicken and family Dave, SWMBO has spoken.

Mike mentions Ruben, now I need to get some rye bread and make salad dressing.

We are awaiting our one 70degree plus day on Tuesday. Probably 60s Monday and Wednesday. Been cold chilly and sprinkly lately.

Glad ya got out Lee for a short hike.

Oh Dave didn't know you went to Presbyterian Church. My wife is Presbyterian so we go to a historic local one out in the country near where we live. Still has some stainglass windows in German as it was in an area settled by Swiss Germans mostly called Helvetia.

So sorry about your gut and all that rain Bill. glad your imaging seemed ok,

Oh Sam still praying for your DW that her O2 levels go up.

We have one older lady (85y/o+) in our zoom WW group that had lost 100 lb and mostly kept it off or at least not regained all of it. She recently fell and broke some vertebrae in her back. Prayers for her recovery indeed.

Good afternoon! I was not able to log on the last two days. I finally got on, and it looks like it was just my little world that was not working correctly.

I'm almost done with the second door. We spent most of yesterday with Connie's extended family. Her Uncle had recently passed and his memorial was yesterday, followed by a fellowship dinner. He was in his late 80s and had Alzheimer's.

Prayers for Mary, and for Joanne, and for Sam.

Bill, I hope you get some better weather out there. Things are getting green around here. I'm going to get some yard work done this coming week before I start on the third door.

    Have a great evening!
