I’m sorry for the confusion with my posts @frankwbrown. The week 1 report of 150.3 is correct.

I used my mother’s scale on Thursday and the scale read 151.1 but I forgot to post the weigh-in and returned home from Boston last night. I used my usual scale this morning and registered the 151.8 weight.

I thought it might be better to report the weight based on the same scale. I apologize for the error and late response. 🙏🏼

@PatriceFitnessPal No need to apologize. Attending to the needs of our loved ones is more important than adhering to a strict schedule of measuring our progress.

sigh And today is a good example of what I mean. I am always my heaviest on weigh-in day, to the point of wondering if I should pick a different day! The only thing that helps that is fasting a day or two before, and that doesn't seem normal? Does anyone else have to fast before weigh-in to have a chance?

@morenin — I think it’s better to change your weigh in day if you feel the ‘rhythm is off.’ I don’t recommend fasting because it’s not realistic in the longterm, which is what matters most.

Psychologically, it’s difficult when we know the scale registered a lower number earlier in the week and it’s higher on the day we report to the team, but the trajectory over time is much more important than a single weigh in day. From your post above, it looks as though you’ve lost 35 pounds — that’s a fantastic downward trajectory!! 🎉🎉🎉

Do you think it might help if you only weigh yourself once a week so you don’t compare days so close together?

@PatriceFitnessPal You're are very likely right. For some reason the rhytym of my week means I am at my heaviest on Sunday. And I do need to be less obsessed with stepping on the scale I suppose. When I was using Noom, I got in the habit of checking every day. I'm not sure what their logic was.

@frankwbrown Would it be possible to change my weigh-in day next week to Thursday? And could I sign up for the Step Challenge also?

    @morenin

No problem, but as I am a newbie captain, let me confirm that with @jessicakrall8.

We're two weeks into the step challenge, but the usual requirement is:

    • What's your daily step goal?
    • Where's your favorite place(s) to walk?

@morenin There's a reason that my weigh-in day is on Friday. I have found that my heaviest day is on Monday and then it trends down (hopefully) during the week. And it's not like I go crazy on the weekends, it's likely a combination of not getting up to exercise before work and other things that aren't part of my normal weekday routine.

@frankwbrown I can wait until next month! Just thought I'd toss my hat in there. Here are my answers, so you have them for next month if needed?

My daily step goal is 5,000. I hope to ease into 10k a day, but I am out of shape and need to start slow. And my favorite place to walk is around the backstreets of my neighborhood at a quiet time of day.

@DaffyGirl88 In a way, I'm glad to know it's not just me! I've been feeling like a real failure lately.

Slow day and I have no idea why, but got a short workout in and some yoga.

I took up weight lifting three years ago as a perimenopausal woman and I'm so bored of it lately. I have decided to change it up and do bodyweight workouts, by beloved vinyasa yoga and my walking/hillwalking. I exercise consistently but I always put myself under pressure to do more, harder and heavier. Just so tired of that the last few weeks.
