HOW IT ALL WORKS: The April challenge runs for four weeks, from March 30th - April 26th.
Everyone weighs in weekly on their chosen day right here in the team chat. At the end of each week, the tallies are done to determine the team and individuals with the most weight lost. The best losers are announced with full fanfare every Sunday. The team competition is all in good spirits - may the most losing win, and may everyone else get to work on next week!
We also celebrate those small, steady losses. If you lose, however small an amount, you are in the green! At the end of the month, we celebrate everyone who lost at least a bit every single week. You are heading steadily towards your goal even if you aren't at the top of the weight loss leader board. In March we are aiming for every team to hit 50% green every week - let's do this!
To make your weigh-in easy to find for your team Captains, please put it right at the top of a message, and use this format:
Weigh In Day:
PW (Previous Weight):
CW (Current Weight):
If you miss two weigh-ins in a row without asking for a break, you will be dropped from the team, so be sure to inform your team captain if you are traveling, sick, or just need some time off. If you want a break, you can be excused for a week or two, or can be moved to the Support Team for as long as you need. You still participate in the discussions, you can weigh in if you want to, but it will not count in the weekly tally. Don't worry! You can always come back even if you get dropped.
Once you reach your goal weight, you join the Goal Zone. You continue to weigh in every week. If you have 2 weeks above your self-defined goal zone, you go back to the regular team to lose that amount before it builds up. You will have a chance to hone those maintenance skills and stick with your team.
In addition to your own team, there are weekly F2F Full Group CHALLENGES. You can do all or none - it's up to you. Participating adds a lot to your success, so we hope to see you there often! These can involve anything fitness, health, or nutrition - and they’ll get you moving, thinking, and learning about this journey. Check the Announcements section for full group challenges.
Let’s show our fellow challengers some F2F love Introduce or re-introduce yourselves right away, and let's get April on the road!

Hi 👋
Friday was a pretty good day. My knee was still hurting, so I took it kind of easy. I went and did some errands and after that, just kind of took it easy. My knee was hurting, so that seemed lime a good idea.
Saturday, was an unexpected day spent with family. It was an awesome day.
I don't know what is going on with my knee, this is a new kind of pain. Lol… as if I need new "pain" 😅😅😅
Y'all have a great day 😀

I am one of your Mission Slimpossibles captains along with the fabulous @Katmary71 ! Our motivator is the inspiring and supportive @micaroo4 !
MY INTRODUCTION
Hi everyone. My name is Chris. I live in Southern California with my husband, cute one-eyed pirate pug named Daisy (9 yrs old) and pug pup name Violet who is 2 yrs old. Up until my mid-20s, I was a healthy weight but then the mid-20s hit and along with that came medications that made me gain weight as well as poor lifestyle choices. At my highest weight, I was 257 lbs. I just had gastric bypass surgery on Dec 20, 2024 to save my life. I had to do something fast as I was losing my mobility. I haven’t had to use a cane since my surgery! I hope to get down to around 165 lbs, or whatever is healthy for me. For exercise, I like to walk with my husband and friends. Up until my surgery, the arthritis in my knee limited me a lot. I am doing a lot better since surgery and a cortisone shot. Besides walking, I occasionally do water aerobics. My husband and I love to cook, I've got 9,116 recipes saved but who's counting? LOL Seriously, I do and they are all organized, so if you need a recipe for ANYTHING, let me know! I've got everything from healthy foods to pet treats to recipes for cleaning supplies. My hobbies: reading, making artwork and crafts, photography, and cooking. I do straight-up calorie counting of healthy foods.

Congrats to the whole team for achieving 2nd place for the week and 1st place for March! A special shout-out goes to @laurelfit57 @bobboyardee @Cornanda @AnAbsoluteDiva and @bethanie0825 for leading the way! Way to go. And look at how many of us were in the green for the month, way to go @TeresaW2024 and @Cornanda!
@TeresaW2024 I hate when I wake up that early. Yes, it is a bummer, I was going to have sugar-free pie which is hard to find in the city! The jewelers may bring it to my work. I hope I have to go back up there to get it though so I can get that pie lol. I'm glad you are feeling better. That's good you have the option of watching church on YouTube. Ugh about the pollen!
@sleepygirl79 @txcritter69 Congrats on the losses!
Hi all. Yesterday, I ended up ordering Sam's Club to be delivered (same day). When the food arrived, it was missing 2 dozen eggs + one of the Greek yogurts. I was mad. They will refund it but now I have to go get eggs and a Greek yogurt, which defeats the purpose of getting the food delivered! I vow to start tracking again today. I am toying with the idea of tracking in MFP again. Currently, I am tracking in a special app that my surgeon's office set me up with which is for bariatric patients. I don't like it as much as MFP, though. Today is work all day long. Hopefully the traffic won't be bad.
Tracked yesterday? No!

@lislisa123 Congrats on your INCREDIBLE 90 lb loss!

Wahooooo look at us being #1 in March!! Way to go team! Let’s do it again!!! 🤩😎
@trooworld Delivery is only excellent if they deliver all your stuff. I feel your frustration! I think we can only track well if we like the tracker we are using. I hope you do get that pie! 😋
@lislisa123 Wow, what an incredible achievement to lose 90 lbs. You should be very proud of yourself. 😃
Hello! I am Teresa, for those who don’t know me. I live in Georgia with my husband, who is much older and suffering from dementia. Learning to be a caregiver has been a life skill I never wanted but one I'm determined to do because my sweet Joe deserves only the best. We also live with my mom, sister, and little dog, Maggie Mae. I work for my church as their secretary and am blessed that I work primarily from home with a boss who is very supportive. I had lost a lot of weight and then gained it all back, but I’m on a mission to lose the weight and become fit and healthy before I turn 60 next March. 🙏
Good morning! My cold is almost gone, and I’m eager to get a good workout today. I lost 3.8 lbs this month, and while that makes me happy, it’s not near what I should have lost. So, starting today, I commit to tracking all my food, daily weigh-ins, 5 to 6 days in my workout room, and no snacking between meals. I want to lose at least 8 lbs this month. Let's go!!!! 😎1 -
Hello,
Austin here. For those who don’t know me, I live in Texas with my husband. I have one son, now in college. I will brag about him at the drop of a hat, so be careful what you ask. My home also includes a menagerie: 1 green-cheeked conure, 5 backyard chickens who think they are lap birds, a huge goldfish (now 11 years old, I think), and 2 cats (one of whom we recently rescued from diabetes by changing his diet).
I was here a while back and got busy with family things and quit focusing on health, and my scale and mirror and fitness remind me of this. I gained a bunch of weight back and am not happy about that. So. To work I go. I am so delighted I can come back!
I have actually been saying "no" to some things in order to make time to say "yes" to fitness and health. Woohoo!
As an incentive, we all got passports, and hope to use them for a family vacation next year. I want to be fit and healthy and ready to do a bunch of walking!
My plans for today:
○ track my intake in MFP
○ do a 12-item bodyweight series
○ get in a long walk
○ dye my hair (it will improve my morale!)

I messed up my weigh-in this morning - did my cardio workout before stepping on the scale. Thirty minutes on the stair climber translates to high volume of blood being pumped to the quads which gives an inaccurate reading. "Weigh first thing in the morning" is a real thing.
On another note, I did my 45 minutes of weights (my home gym is finally usable enough) and between sets when the app tells me to rest I danced. No standing still. Kept that heart rate up the whole time. It felt so good!
I baked banana bread last night and cut the sugar in half. My husband is the one with the sweet tooth but I don't mind having a taste so I baked everything in the mini loaves and slicing one mini loaf into four pieces gives me 16 servings. Came to 131 calories, tasted great with my coffee, and didn't break the caloric bank.
Have a good week folks! And if you were in the path of the Midwestern storms last night, I hope you fared well and have power.

Hi Mission Slimpossibles! I'm Kathy, I'm co-captain with the amazing @trooworld and we have @micaroo4 at our awesome motivator. I've been part of this group for over 6 years now, two of the three group leaders from when I joined have returned to our team, we have a lot of long friendships in this group! I work with a functional medicine practitioner trading office work for treatment, file claims, then volunteer at the food bank farm/greenhouse. My hobbies are gardening, reading, and music. I'm a little over my goal weight at this time and am trying to get down about 15lbs. I have chronic pain issues (CRPS and spinal/nerve issues.
I log everyone's weigh ins, please try to weigh in on time. IF you're out-of-town or not near a scale please try to let me know in advance so I can report it in the captain's lounge and it can be excused. If you have two "no weigh ins" in a row you will be dropped from the team. If something comes up and you're dropped from the team please know we'll always welcome you back and as a returning member you don't have to wait until the end of the month to rejoin.Thank you!
Let's have an awesome April!

@TeresaW2024 Yes exactly! I agree about tracking. Eventually, I'll get that pie lol. I think 3.8 lbs is great but I understand you want it to be more. Good goals. You got this! <3
@AustinRuadhain That's interesting that your goldfish is 11! I'm glad you were able to save your cat from diabetes. Yay for saying "NO"! Good goals. I look forward to more of your insights and congrats on that loss!
@AnAbsoluteDiva I find you so inspiring! Congrats on the loss. Good idea to reduce the sugar in the banana bread.
Hi all. I was very tired yesterday. I hope I'm less tired today. I decided to track in MFP for now. I may change my mind when my premium MFP is up for renewal. It was raining here yesterday which was a surprise to me. I didn't know it was going to rain. Luckily, it wasn't raining when I left work as I didn't have my umbrella on me.
Tracked yesterday? YES

@AustinRuadhain I am so glad you are back and ready to focus on your health and fitness! It’s so easy for us to put ourselves on the back burner when life gets to be too much. We just can’t let that happen! We deserve to treat ourselves as well as we treat those we love.
@AnAbsoluteDiva Yikes, I bet your weight jumped up after that intense cardio! 😀 Love that you are dancing between sets to keep your heart rate up. Sometimes, I jump on my trampoline to do the same thing. I’m doing Dig Deeper right now, and Shawn T is a talker. What a good idea to portion out the banana bread to enjoy it without consequences. 🙂
@trooworld We also got a lot of rain yesterday, which was great because it washed so much of the pollen away. I took Maggie outside yesterday evening, and my eyeballs weren’t attacked. I hope you have a better day and don’t feel so tired. 🙂
Good morning! I was shocked to see the scale remain the same as last week. I was sure I would gain, so I will take it. I’m treating this month as I did in January. I made a tracker and will track the following things this month: Daily weigh-in, tracking food, NO snacking between meals, working out at least 30 minutes (5 to 6 days a week), and 10 minutes on the vibration plate. My goal is to lose 8 lbs by the end of the month. Today is super busy, and I won’t do my normal morning workout because Joe has a doctor’s appointment, and then I need to run to the church, pick up our taxes, do an Amazon return to Khols, and go to Aldi. And I need to be back by 1:30 because my bestie is coming for coffee. Have a good day! 😃Question: What is one thing that went WRONG in your weight loss journey and how did you overcome it?
What always goes wrong is allowing one bad day of eating to turn into two, three, four, or a whole week or month. I really feel that a key ingredient to successful weight loss is never going more than one meal, or at the very least one day, before reigning it back in and getting back to your plan. I’m really trying to stop that behavior and work on consistency.

Austin here. Good morning!
@TeresaW2024 - Thank you! I am glad to be back and working to make myself (health) a priority.
I got some things done yesterday, so I feel like I made some progress.
🟢 track my intake in MFP
🟡 do a 12-item bodyweight series (I did part of it)
🟢 get in a long walk
○ dye my hair (it will improve my morale!)Today is a day when I still feel super over-committed -- pre this morning, teaching this afternoon, Scouts in the evening. And I am behind in pre for both. So I am paring down a bit:
○ track my intake in MFP
○ get in a long walk or stairstepping
○ at least 12 flights of stairs
🟡 get in some calisthenics (at least 1 set for each of 4 movements; I have already gotten started!)2 -
Hi 👋
I got a lot of shopping in yesterday and that was about it. I got all of my steps in and I called it a good day because I was very tired.
I'm going to call my dr about my knee today. They will probably send me for xrays and say arthritis, but my husband is insisting that I need to go.
@AustinRuadhain welcome back 😃
What is one thing that went WRONG in your weight loss journey and how did you overcome it?
I'm constantly in the yoyo cycle. I start to lose weight and then I get a big head. I figure I'm doing alright, then boom. I have a cheat day and I don't get back on track. It's a viscous cycle for me.
Wegovy has helped some, but I noticed this last week that I need to be more active. That makes a lot of difference. Last week, I was down in new territory and I was being more. This week, my knee has been hurting, so I have been less active. As a result, I'm going to have a gain.
I'm going to try and go on the treadmill today. Chipper hates it when I do that, but my best buddy will survive.
Y'all have a good day 😊

Question: What is one thing that went WRONG in your weight loss journey and how did you overcome it? The biggest things that went wrong for me were things that disrupted my exercise schedule. Mostly injuries. A fall, a bicycle accident, and various forms of tendonitis. Most of the time I was able to find substitute exercises so that I could keep going and keep losing.

Hi. I haven’t introduced myself for some time. I’m pretty hit and miss on this site which I need to change. I’m a 46 year old Mom to 2 boys (16, 10) and been married almost 18 years. I work full time and travel everyday for my job. I struggled with weight as a young girl and finally got fit in high school and university. I found weight started accumulating when I met my now husband. I guess we became less active and started doing more dates at restaurants. I like to blame him for being overweight lol. Really want to lose the weight but often get gung ho before losing ambition. Right now, I’m trying to fix plantar fasciitis so I can do more activities. Currently walk and occasionally play racquetball with my boys. Would love to get back to running again.
