Church this morning, then might get on the XC skis if the snow hasn't melted too much. We got 6" yesterday, although wet heavy snow and the temps have hovered above freezing. Never got out on the skis yesterday. Tomorrow, if good weather, going to paddle the Sevenmile River with a buddy.

Having painful knot in my upper back a few days, I think an old issue I haven't had in decades but was chronic when I worked, bent over a calculator in the office. Hoping canoeing will work it out and not aggravate it.

Making progress on decluttering and hope to be spic and span soon and have people over to see and hear my piano.

Bill, glad you at least have some answers.

    Good morning!

Mike, I asked Connie if I could put my new snowblower in the 1971 Chevy C10 truck and take it to see my Friend Mike in Mass. She is ready to put me in a home someplace where they will take care of me. 🤣🤣

Today is a rest day and church. I have been watching Youtube videos and will try to fix my bike brakes today. Rear cable is too loose, front squeals loudly. Chuckle all you want to, Bob.

My hot tub is also acting up and the air jets won't come on. Why is stuff always breaking?! I am going to get out my friend Youtube for that too. In the old days, I had a subscription where I got a new Black and Decker "how to" book each month. I still have that library. It was well used in the day. Not so much now. As it is from the early '90s, it is very dated now, although things like plumbing just don't change.

    Have a great day!

    Mornin' gents.

We got about 2 inches of heavy wet stuff. It was nasty cold and windy yesterday. My body ached like I got hit and rolled by a semi. A little better today, but still very creaky. I need to feel a lot better so I can get some stuff done around the house besides laundry and vacuuming. Stuff like playing with my dogs. I just took a tramadol.

Am smoking a couple of pork butts and a rack of spare ribs today. I got lots of requests for smoked meat from folks at work when I gave a couple of my team samples of pork belly from my last smoke. So for $1.59/lb, I will supply the entire staff with some pulled pork. The spare ribs are for me.

Got news from DS#1 that he will be deployed to the middle East (probably Kuwait) come September 2025 for 9 months. M and I hope DDIL gets pregnant with DGK#2 before he leaves. M hinted that DGS will need me to be there come January 2026 since his dad will be absent. Therefore, no dilly dallying in CT once I turn 65.

How did the chicken leg BBQ go, Dave? Do you butterfly the legs?

Squeaky wheel gets the grease, Steve.

    How are the peepers, Sam?

    Onward and downward ;-)

    Good morning gentlemen.

Another beautiful spring day on tap for Puget Sound. No winter holdover here.

The grilled chicken was very good. No butterflying, Lee. They were marinaded and thrown on the gas grill. They get a nice char on the outside, stay juicy inside. I flip them every few minutes and checked the internal temperature when they started to feel done. Pulled them when they reached 160. Best part of the evening was visiting with DS and DDIL. Got to see all the photos from their cruise from Texas to Mexico over spring break. The whole family is still sunburned.

Finally doing the cantata at church, this morning. Didn't have all the musicians there for the dress rehearsal, yesterday, so we have to be an hour early this morning, to go over some stuff with the violinist and cellist.

Oh wow Dave music seems great!!! DW is leaving soon to prep for Bell Choir piece today. That chicken sounds amazing.

Oh I hear ya about the brakes Steve. My front disc brake annoys me. I would much rather fuss with xlnt pad brakes with kool stop pads (no matter how they might be branded).

Good luck and God's grace be w your DS in the middle east. Lee.

    Off to church soon.

Missed church this morning, still not allowed to drive. Hopefully will be released to drive tomorrow when they take the staples out.

Would love to scratch eyes out but have been warned against touching them. Believe one reason DW did not chose to go to church today was because she knew I would tell everyone she *kitten*-slapped me.

Mike with history might need to give cardiologist a call just to be safe.

Dave sure you and choir will do great today. Miss formal church services but hopefully we will get back to traditional as well as modern services once building completed.

Weather forecaster said we were through seeing frost till fall, time to plant garden; only issue is eyes for another week and half and shoulder for a couple of months

    Good Morning

Just got off the phone with the tax accountant. She was trying to figure out how to tell me I owe about 30K in taxes mostly from the profit on the house after the allowance and all the improvements over the years. I already knew it would be that much and held money back from the proceeds but still….ouch. Our old house more than quadrupled in price in the 25 years we owned it. Also found out our other income is enough to make our SS taxable and we need to increase our tax payments. Fun call. But I am impressed she got the taxes done. 3 days ago her office was talking about and extension. I am so glad I never went into tax accounting or public accounting for that matter. More family coming tonight for a few days. Nice stretch of "My goodness it is beautiful here" weather ahead.
