    Good morning!

Today does not feel like Good Friday to me. It is different when I am not working. I'm not sure how to make it more meaningful. Perhaps attend a church service today. I will also be mowing today around expected rain.

Thankfully, not much else to report today.

    Have a great day!

Steve, that is a lot of ticks. Sounds like when we were living in a house deep in the woods in Cornwall CT. I do the same as Bob. Permethrin spray on clothes and deet on bare skin when it is tick season.

Score another decent night of sleep for melatonin. I plan to discontinue after a week or so to see if I just needed to reset my brain.

Long active day yesterday. 7 am PT, then drove 90 minutes to dog training, then grocery shopping on way home, then picked up boat before finally arriving home at 5 pm. Good thing I had set up some turkey meatballs in sauce in the crockpot before leaving in the morning. I was too beat to do much.

Cabbage soup in the crock pot today.

    Onward and downward ;-)

    G'Morning…

    Sunny again today.

That's a lot of ticks, Steve! Should you be on an antibiotic? I use Sawyer's permethrin spray from Home Depot on my cloths. Supposed to last 6 weeks and kills bugs that touch it. Let dry before wearing. Local senior hiking group recommends "Ranger Ready". And Maine park ranger told me he uses 100% DEET on his clothes and 40% on his skin during blackfly season.

Discovered funny sound of some piano notes is because my piano has a cracked bridge. Major repair job for me (remove bass strings and bridge pins, clamp the cracks shut, slobber on epoxy, drill new pin holes, put back together), or expensive replacement if I can find someone to do that job. I asked piano technicians on a forum to weigh in on it.

DGS is in a Good Friday reenactment this afternoon. An hour drive from here, but I may go.

Sam, good luck to you and DW. Maybe you can get some late season veges planted eventually.

    Have a good day…

    Good morning gentlemen.

I use DEET and Permethrin to ward off mosquitoes in the mountains, but don't really think much about ticks. I never had an encounter with chiggers during all my time in Texas, either. Just lucky that way, I guess.

Should be another pretty day, with a high of 73. I want to finish turning the rattle I am making for my nephew's expected baby. Choir is singing at Good Friday service tonight.

    Good Morning,

No real plans for today, been invited to join DS and family for dinner; DGD turned 16 today. DGS enlisting in Navy and will report sometime in June after graduation from high school.

    Shoulder is improving, still will not allow me to drive;

It's Good Friday also know in south as day to plant gardens, shoulder will not allow breaking up soil and not allowed to bend over or stoop because of eyes. May try late garden after doctor's release.

We will have temps in 80's for weekend.

Installing new heat pump in basement tomorrow, current unit they claim is not working properly causing mold and mildew in basement. Prices have really increased since last fall, companies are blaming increase on required new refrigerants.

Will get DW to pick me up some melatonin to see if it helps me sleep at night even though I have been off all pain meds for over a week.

Oooh yes Bill Darlingtonia State Park wayside is great with the large Cobra Lily carnivorous plants (Darlingtonia californica).

Had quiet thoughts and prayer to myself beore hitting the wetland trails by bike this a.m.

My special tomato plants (grafted Orange Paruche) are arriving today by a same day shipment from Cottage Grove (Near Eugene Oregon). Will keep my eye out for them. They are a very tasty cherry tomato somewhat similar to Sungolds but maybe slightly sweeter and more deeply "fruity". I tasted some from a neighbor and we both like the taste.

Looking forward to Easter service and later brunch with DD.

    Cheers.

    Good Morning

Another warm day yesterday. We worked on garden/lawn issues. Heather planter her Nasturtium while I worked on giving the lawn a good edging by any hardscape in prep for sheet mulching. This lawn is one thick mat. It took significant effort. I will do a little each day to prevent doing a number on my back. I also figured out the sprinkler system. I will reprogram it to run shorter. I haven't a clue the drip portion is connected to since we can't find emitters. Just soaker hose that needs to be done manually. We enjoyed the Neil Young "Coastal" film that his wife made. Though it was a film, we all applauded after the songs. I just finished doing the recorded talks, etc for my Community's Good Friday. The live stuff is on UK time so I pass until Sunday.
