Supplements? Hormone Therapy?

Are any of you trying supplements or hormones to treat perimenopause symptoms? And how is it going?

I've read a couple books and they say that estrogen isn't lower during peri, but it does vary wildly, some days super high, other days low. It's progesterone that is consistently lower during peri, so I've been trying Progesterone cream; however, one book said it's not as strong/effective as taking it as a pill from the doctor. You can get progesterone cream over the counter.

So I've compiled a list from the books, and have been trying these (bolded):

3g Taurine - reduces cortisol levels
30 mg zinc - helps to lower estrogen and increase progesterone levels, build strong bones, and keep your immune system in tip-top shape to ward off viruses. It will also balance your copper levels. When your body transforms the levels of “free copper” to a bioavailable form, you may experience increased energy, less anxiety, and fewer mood swings.
250 mcg or .25mg iodine (especially helpful for vegans)

Chasteberry - increases progesterone
Lemon balm - anxiety
Thyme essential oil with a carrier oil - improves progesterone production, balances hormones
Valerian root - proven effective sleep aid
Vitamin C - increases progesterone levels 50%
Rhodiola - enhances energy, helps with stress
Bacopa monnieri in- lowers cortisol levels

I started HRT a few months back. I have an estrogen patch and i take a progesterone pill at night. It help with fatigue and mood but hasn’t helped with my weight gain or brain fog at all.
