    Good morning!

May the fourth be with you!

Today is Sunday rest day, but it sure seems like I have a lot that I want to do today. The only real "work" thing is that I must go to Walmart for groceries. We buy our groceries at Walmart, but our meat at a grocer that has an in-house butcher.

It promises to be a warmer and sunny day today. I don't know if I will get my kayak out today, but I'm thinking about it for after lunch.

I worked in the garden yesterday and I'm very sore today. I can't get my rototiller started, so I have some work to do there as well. I am starting to like small engine repair, I just wish that I had not procrastinated until the last minute with some of these things. I'm still frustrated by the fact that I've been retired now for almost a year, and I have a ton of things that I want to do but have not done yet.

    Have a great day!

Went for a hike yesterday afternoon in the Quabbin wilderness. 84º and sunny at the start, then dark clouds, wind, rumbles of thunder (but no rain) and the temp dropped to 68º when I got back to my car. Rain held off till I got home and inside, when the sky opened up a downpour and a roaring wind went through. Blew the screen out of my bedroom window.

Bill, your town sounds like a nice area to do things. Steve, hope you get out in the kayak.

Special day today, three GKs are making their first communion and some family getting together at DD's house afterward.

Am writing a song for our piano teacher. Goofy lyrics so far about seniors struggling to learn music, and a tune with chords, which I am still tweaking. No word on how he is doing, we don't know where he is currently, and he doesn't answer emails, but maybe there's a way to get it to him if I ever finish it.

    Have a good day.

    Good Morning,

Steve, I've been retired 9 years and my to do list keeps growing. Provided you are staying busy don't worry about it. Remember all work and no play will make Steve a dull boy. Get the kayak out today since you said yesterday it needed to get out.

Goofy gets attention and is remembered

    Busy week ahead..

    Good morning gentlemen.

Slept poorly, again, last night. So did Rita. We'll have to be careful that we don't get on each other's nerves, today.

I don't make lists. But I find pleasure in most tasks that come along. None of it, therefore, feels like work. Washing the car, household repairs, painting a porch, pruning a tree - all just fooling around. And a lot better that commuting to deal with knuckleheads all day.

Good grief spending all that time on scales seems like a glorious waste of time and energy. I like your innovative song though Mike.

Was indisposed yesterday to put it politely. What a mess to start the day. doing fine later on.

Yup I remember one of our good friends who like many of us was busy as heck in retirement said "I don't know how I ever had time to work". There are just so many things to keep up with. I remember that one.

My DD bought me a "Persian Cucumber" at the farmer's mkt yesterday. If it is like the ones she grew last year it should be wonderful. Basicaly spineless, burpless, juicy and nice.

Have a wonderful day and also decent sleep for Dave and rita.

    Good Morning

Steve, one of the joys of retirement is knowing there is stuff that could use your attention but being free to ignore any sense of urgency and getting coffee. As Sam and Dave said the trick is to stay busy without enslaving yourself. Since we moved, I have had trouble keeping busy since we got to a certain point and I was having recurring health problems. I just prayed about that this morning. I hate lists, they feel like work. But I am trying to just be productive.

Yesterday I finally got the old Weber unpacked and reassembled. Fortunately I ordered replacement wheel hubs from Amazon before I sealed the box. My back did not liked my being bent over it for the time it took. It tightened up while I was at the hardware store getting some stuff for the garden. Ice and rest and I am back to my abnormal self. Today is exploring day. The three of us will head North to a spot my son picked out. He has his Mother's side of the family exploring gene. He is more active since we moved here which is good.

    Afternoon gents.

The nicest one of a few takers this am.

    Nice little pike.

Very cool about the song, Mike. I'd love to see your lyics.

Wish I could say I was productive this weekend, but I can't. But I did catch a few fishies, and confirmed that my outboard is running as it should.

    Onward and downward ;-)
