New member to the group and new to long-distance running

Hello everyone! I’m new to this group and long-distance running. All throughout childhood and adulthood I’ve been a sprinter. I just took up running for distance. Is there any advice anyone can share with a newbie?
I ran a little over a mile. Trying to find my stride and find the best pace so I don’t wear myself out too soon. Hopefully before the month is up I can be at 3miles.
Q. Are there any indicators like # of miles within certain time for someone new to distance training?
