@Kali225 finding that middle ground rather than all or nothing is such a challenge . I get in the mindset that unless I do all the things all the time, then I may as well not do them at all, and I know how wrong that is, but my brain is wired that way. I hope you find your middle ground!
@MaddawgMadsen you ’re amazing!! I’m terrible at advocating for myself at work, you’re an inspiration. I’m really glad that you and your husband are both taking steps to look after yourselves.
@jguldi11 social events are my Achilles heel . I can be so good when I’m by myself, but put me at an event and a slip becomes a slide…
@Gidgitgoescrzy I love your office and plants ! So calming!
@lauren _989 you’re doing so well with consistency!!
I’m just ticking along here, as I said above. I feel like I’m just bouncing around in a pinball machine and I don’t have control over where I go and what I hit. I need to ground myself and recentre. I’m heading to the library at lunch and I’m going to have a good look at the self help section and see if anything speaks to me.

I had such a good weekend, my husband went to a baseball game on friday night with his kids, but it had alot of rain delays so he drank alot. Saturday morning, I knew he'd be sleeping late and be hungover, so I got up, made my coffee, went outside sat on the couch with Toby and he got all the pets, ( Dixie stayed upstairs with the husband, so even the dogs have favorites) then I had another cup of coffee, then I weeded, all of the gardens, which took forever, then I did all of the house stuff, then I walked on the treadmill.
Sunday, I did Pilates/ yoga, and 30 min on the treadmill. I kept food in check all weekend and didn't really go overboard, so that was good.
We painted the kitchen, and honestly I am not thrilled with my choices, but I am going to leave it and see if it maybe grows on me, or looks better when everything else is in.
Have a wonderful day !

Good morning,
I am doing much better with establishing a summer routine. I also discovered I could track steps in MFP…which I didn’t know about previously for some reason…so that’s a motivator.

@lauren_989 I'm a fan of Yoga with Adrienne videos too.
mkksemail fantastic NSV lifting heavy is a great accomplishment.
Gidgitgoescrzy Love the office - so cozy.
MaddawgMadsen I know this is something you've been pushing for a while - great job not giving up on what you should be entitled for.

Sorry I've been absent. Struggling with all the things. Life is pretty stressful at the moment and my go to seems to be junk food. There is an irony because I'm keeping very good control over my diabetes with insulin but actually making terrible choices. So I do feel good about that, but it's not helping me form better habits.
Hopefully better tomorrow.

@Pearl4686 is there a healthy snack or drink you can turn to when stressed? Blueberries, grapes, carrots? I find a cup of hot tea works wonders!

I am fired up after finishing my (crazy) lower body workout and getting an email from my insurance company - I am STILL chasing them to reimburse me for the rental car I needed after I got in a hit & run on new year's day! Some of you may recall the story. They've had my receipt for 4 months, and after a much sterner-toned email from me today, they have just now decided to tell me that I am over their "reasonable" limit for rental cars per day. BS! I asked my original agent about this exact thing - are there any limits to reimbursement? And he said no, in writing. So now it's me vs Jordana, and she's not prepared for this fight. Plus, what would "reasonable" even be based on? I had to drive 4+ hours, but what if I lived in Florida when I get hit in NY? THAT rental cost would have been a lot more!!!
Such crooks. Whole system needs to go.
Gonna be a very late dinner tonight. Unfortunately, I snacked a LOT when I got home, and got distracted by my book, so the evening didn't go to plan. But I still got laundry done and will have time to wind down before bed. (Or wind back up, with how this book is going. Alas!)

June 15 steps =2629
June 16 steps =10,069
steps not good yesterday.
I am ok with it because I needed rest day. Today I spent too much time in car and ate too much. I just Jogged on the rebounder to get my steps at least to 7000. I’ll post today’s steps later, maybe I can motivate myself to walk*update. Made myself get more steps in. I want to have more weekly steps then last week.

@energyseeker great job getting more steps in! And the only person you are competing with is yourself. I love your goal for this week!

@lauren_989 I love the suggestion you gave @Pearl4686 to drink hot tea. I did some research on this very topic a while back and there are several teas that are proven to help curb appetite and cravings. My favorites are green tea in the morning/daytime, and cinnamon tea in the evening. Cinnamon tea is also great for regulating glucose!
@Kali225 ugh that is so frustrating! Insurance companies really are terrible to deal with. I hope you get reimbursed soon!
I've had a few very busy days and I am TIRED! On Saturday my kids and I went with my sister to a local Greek Festival, we enjoyed great music and delicious food. I managed to keep my portions in check and got lots of walking in. Sunday I started doing some deep cleaning and getting rid of things in the house, planted some flowers, then had a BBQ with family for Father's Day. Again I watched my portions and stayed active. Today I spent a few hours walking around our local hardware stores looking for inspiration for my bathroom that's being remodeled. I'm grateful to be able to get this done, but the process is stressful. Today was a good food day and I'm happy with my slow but steady weight loss so far!
I hope everyone has a relaxing evening and a great day tomorrow!

@Kali225 - Dealing with insurance companies can and often is a pain in the boo-tay! But, I love your energy; keep it up! You are your own best advocate, because if you don't advocate for yourself, nobody will.
I am exhausted today, but I did manage to make it to CrossFit last night and even got to do some of the lower body workout despite my knee.

@lauren_989 back in one-derland! way to go
Insurance update: I got (most) of my money reimbursed today, so that's settled. phew.
Just finished dance cardio with the gals, my kitchen is clean, and I'm ready for a shower and bed. I have a pretty early meeting tomorrow so I have to be on time with bed. I have Thursday off this week and I am so looking forward to sleeping in, and kayaking!

Today was my 30th day in a row of logging my food and exercise in MFP, I'm pretty excited about that! There was a time years ago where my logging streak was well into the hundreds, hopefully I will get back there. One day at a time ;)
It was very hot out today, I did manage to get a 45 minute walk in with my first client of the day. No one else wanted to brave the heat with me, which I wasn't too sad about lol.
While eating dinner I was able to listen to my body and notice that I was content, so I put the leftovers in the fridge for tomorrow's lunch. Saving calories and money, it's a win-win!

Good morning Waistaways!
My life at the moment is total shambles 😢 The work is awful, so busy! I work 14/15 hour days 6 days a week 😢 I'm completely worn out 😢
Lauren, can I please go to Team support for the rest of June? I will restart again in July when everything calmes down a little.
Thank you x

Well the past 2 days have been good, I did not exercise, my body was sore from the pilates/yoga, whew, I feel better today, so I will do 30 minutes on the treadmill when I get home.
I have some exciting news in the kitchen dept. Tomorrow countertops get installed, Friday appliances are installed, Saturday the plumber comes and hooks everything up. Monday backsplash is installed, and next Friday the electricians come. So in less than a week I will have a fully functioning kitchen. And aside from a few punch list items, like trim, paint touch ups, oh and some tile work, it will be done, I am SO excited, I had no idea the end would happen so quick, but I am so happy about it, when the installers called me yesterday and were like so we are going to template the backsplash directly after putting in countertops, and install on Monday, is that okay ? I coulda kissed them, I thought it was going to be another 2 weeks.

Thank you for the snack suggestions. I do like snacking on fruit but need to make a point of it. I have heard about the benefits of tea but I have never been a tea drinker, I'm a coffee girl. Maybe I should give teas another go.
I have been better with food the last few days and have managed 2 good workouts.

@Kali225 that must be relieving you got most of the insurance money. That can be a stress of your plate!
@jguldi11 what a great NSV! Tracking 30 days straight is amazing!
@strong_fit_ells I will put you on support. I hope things settle down and you can get help at work!
@Gidgitgoescrzy what a great surprise! The countdown is on!
I made it to the gym after work today, even though I didn't want to go. I have book club tomorrow night, so I can't miss 2 days of exercise in a row.
Also, I harvested 2 zucchinis from my plant, found a 3rd one I didn't know was growing, and have 2 more starting, so that's 4 more than last year 😂

I'm slipping, I can feel it. I'm depressed, I'm still getting my steps in, only because I have to exercise the puppy, but I'm just flat and tired and it's cold and all of the mania and stress and nervous energy of the horrors is wearing off, and I can just feel the cocoon of grey just building up around me. It's to be expected, I wasn't going to be just soldiering on forever, but I hate that I can feel it happening, but feel powerless to stop it.
I'm trying to create a routine, but I'm tired and sad. I'm not motivated to go to the gym, and I'm realising (AGAIN) that signing up was silly because I don't actually like the gym. I do need to maintain muscle though. I just feel really lost, like I've finally looked up out of this sea of change, and stress and crazy and realised that I'm alone, and I don't have any direction.
Anyway. Sorry for the offload. I don't have a lot of places I can just braindump like this.
I thought about going to team support, because I'm letting the team down, but I am scared that would be yet another step towards just letting myself go again completely, it wouldn't be the first time I got down to a low weight like this, then let go and ballooned right back up…

@Alatariel75 you're not letting the team down!! never the case. I have also never been a gym workout person. I used to use a completely free workout video app called "FitOn" that I still recommend, especially if you are in a rut. They have so many types of workouts, and a lot of the videos are very short (they don't typically include a real warm up or cool down tho), so it doesn't feel like such a hurdle to press play. All home/living room-friendly. And the trainers all have really good energy! But if that doesn't appeal, maybe don't think of it as "slipping" - sometimes our bodies need a reset. You've been doing some really active things lately, impressively so! Maybe walking the pup daily can be enough for a few days or weeks. You can always build muscle up again. Sending hugs, friend.
@lauren_989 those zucchinis!! they make me want to make fritters (not very calorie friendly ones haha - but hey, there's a vegetable involved at least)
I had an okay day. My dinners from the meal kit have still been great this week (sausage cacciatore with gnocchi, tuscan steak & mashed potato, and a roasted chicken & broccoli with creamy rice bake), but I still find myself reaching for snacks when I get home, and ocassionally getting a bit out of control. Don't love that. I am doing well with my protein goal at least, but shouldn't that mean I am more full and less in need of snacks? It's such an ingrained habit of mine to get home from work and just munch… ugh
Upper body workout was good, though. My brother got me 15 lb dumb bells for christmas and I am finally working up to using them on select movements!! *flexes weakly * 😅
It is going to be HOT here tomorrow, so I better not sleep too late - want to be out on the kayak before the heat really sets in.

@Alatariel75 You are not letting anyone down, stop that. You stay here, and offload as much as you need. Have you looked into maybe a support group, maybe it could be beneficial to chat with others who have been through this and maybe have some good coping mechanisms.
We are in line for a heat wave here too, like 100's and humid, it's been really rainy the past few days, but today is the last day I believe, it's so humid though, it makes the outside stink, its not a nice earthy smell, it's plain old musty, moldy smell. lol My flowers are super happy though !
