Power wheelchair and burning calories

Hello everyone,

I have Long Covid/CFS and often use a power chair for times when I would otherwise be called on to do a lot of standing or walking.

Yesterday was a perfect spring day and I just couldn't stay inside, so I took my chair to the river and rolled along some paved bike trails for an hour or so. It was a wonderful nature walk, and I was completely exhausted by the time I got home. It got me wondering - even if I'm seated, am I burning more calories than if I had stayed home? It seems like all the steering and situational awareness must be worth something. Not to mention the sun and fresh air.
