Good morning, gents…

'nother cool morning, blessed relief from the 115 feels-like we had a few days ago. Will get the tire on bike fixed and go for a ride on the rail trail here. It's a gorgeous ride—all woods and ponds or streams nearly the whole way. Crosses under one road through a short tunnel that has murals of nature scenes on the walls, and over one road in the state park. 9 miles refreshing of forest. Need to find a better seat so I don't hurt my glutes.

Good morning!
Prayers for Joanne continue.
I did order and receive two CKD cookbooks for seniors from Amazon. They will be very helpful. Cooking for someone with type II diabetes, CKD, AND being a picky eater is a challenge. I suppose that I love my wife enough that I will roll up my sleeves and do this for her (and us, as I could use the improvement in my diet too.)
We are now at that horrible week where everybody is shooting fireworks. It is illegal to shoot them until July 1. Why o why do they start selling them on 6/27 if they cannot be shot until 7/1. Of course people are shooting them now. Dr. Lee prescribed some meds for Frankie, but honestly, they don't seem to help. Each year I drive her south about 15 miles to pee and poop in sort of peace. She gets so stressed that she is spooked by the sound of a fly's wings, I think. Our other dog that we had, Sally Sue, was the same way. Many cities around here have banned fireworks completely, but not the city/county where I live.

Good morning gentlemen.
I add my prayers for Joanne and Sam. They have been through so much.
Got home yesterday and hung the tent and sleeping bags on the back deck, to air out. I'll pack them today, to prepare for the next trip.
One disappointment from our camping was how Sassy did. It seems she is not a camper. She does OK when I leave home, but in the campground, if I walked away, she cried, barked and howled. She wanted to be withing an arm's reach of me all the time. I thought it would ease up, but it didn't. I think she was nervous in an unfamiliar place and wanted to be with me for security.
Sassy shows only curiosity about fireworks, rather than fear. Our previous dog, Princess, would hide under a table and shiver.

Good Morning!
We had a productive day out in the garden. We go pretty slow due to backs and hips and Heather doesn’t want me bending over much. But the irrigation hoses are 80% done. There is ahose buried in the back. I was going to finih digging it up to see what was going on. Instead I connected the house to see if it came up anywhere like the front side. Turns out it goes underground to a large sprinkler head that we thought didn’t work. Fortunately it covers an area we didn’t do since it was sparsely planted. Next up is to dig up the buried extension cord to the shed in the corner. Landscape guy was a no show yesterday to come by and give me a price. I always love when that happens.

Gosh I continue to send good Ts and Ps for Joanne and her issues. Sorry she is back in hospital being cared for.
Yeah Lee My CV sent to Oregon Health Sciences University was several pages for sure and included list of publications as well as a copy of my Masters Thesis for at least one of the jobs. In some ways it is easier as I don't have to condense it so much.
YIKES MIKE 115degrees is ridiculous amazingly our all time high rose to 116degrees in Portland a few years back shattering records 3 days in a row. Rail trails can be amazing for sure.
Wow Steve so sorry about the fireworks and you dog. Much of traditional fireworks are banned here but folks buy them anyway. Hopefully not too bad this year. We are going to a local minor league baseball game which has a fireworks display.
Sorry about your dog's anxiety when camping Dave. I have had good luck hiking and camping with a dog before.
cheers

Joanne got to come home this afternoon,
They had to teach me how to clean out opening and repack, hope to keep infection away.
Two doctors disagree in treatment; I'm going to follow infection disease doctors' instructions. came up with stronger meds. Swelling of breast and side is down. Joanne has named breast Fluffy and D (deflated), They told her again there will be no additional surgeries.
