Well, hit the gun range yesterday and did OK for not having fired a handgun in a while. The 1911 compact felt good in my hand. Burned through 100 rds. Felt sorry for the gun shop that housed the range, it looked like it was on hard times. It is the only one in that town, so the local police force ought to keep the range pretty busy, but am guessing that somehow the owner/management has butted heads with the town cops.
That was my fireworks for the Fourth. Afterwards I hit 3 grocery stores to get what I needed for the next week.
Not sure how my day is gonna shape up. I was contemplating hitting the salt, but the launch will be packed and I hate crowds.

Good morning!
Hot and humid today in Kansas. I don't like it, but it is normal Kansas weather.
Yesterday, I had my '71 Chevy C-10 hauled away on a tow truck. The transmission has given up the ghost. I'm not sure yet what is wrong with it, other than it won't get out of first. The shop said they can look at it on Monday. I hope that after just putting $4600 in my car, that this won't be too bad. I hope it is something they can fix, rather than replace the transmission.
I'm still learning about the new diet for Connie. We "always" have brisket, baked beans, and potato salad on the 4th. I went to the store, and the lowest sodium mustard potato salad I could find had 800mg of sodium. I will be making my own potato salad today for about 200 mg of sodium. I will also be baking my own cake to cut sodium in half from the store bought cake. I've got Connie down to about 1600 mg of sodium per day. She is to stay around 2000. My guess is that we used to be WAY over that. This will be good for both of us. It can taste good with no sodium, but there is a steep learning curve.
Mike, I'm glad that the piano is going so well. Pictures, please!
Have a great and safe holiday!

Yesterday, the WW app says I only got 2500mg of sodium. Some days I almost hit 5000 mg and I can really feel it. I probably average around 3000 mg. I should really try a little harder to stay closer to 2000 mg.
You can use spices and potassium chloride to cover up the lack of sodium. I love mustard, but it has a ton of sodium. You can substitute mustard powder (no sodium) for the condiment.
Fingers crossed for the Chevy truck.
Prayers for Joanne and Job (I mean Sam).

Good morning gentlemen.
Hope all have a happy Independence Day.
Lots of fireworks last night - even though they are illegal here. Sassy stood in the window, wagging her tail and trying to figure out what the heck was going on. We are so glad this is her reaction, rather than the fear many dogs suffer.
I made swissed steak, last night. Haven't done that in many years. It might be many more. It was just ok. Lots of leftovers, so that's our menu for tonight.

Good Morning,
Happy 4th
Tis Friday,
Pablo did not care that it is the 4th, still got up at 6:15 and wanted to do morning walk.
Joanne bathed wound repacked and bandaged
Breakfast done and kitchen cleaned
Now I need to water plants on porch and get my bath. I keep telling myself God does not give us more than we can handle; but I believe he keeps pushing the line.

Good Morning
l was up and out early at 7:00am to head to the Eugene Airport. Heather is flying to Seattle to meet up with her twin and then board a cruise to Alaska with a card/craft group. I failed to convince her that we didn't have to leave that early but didn't get the decision. We got there almost an hour before the ticket counter/baggage drop opened for Alaska Airlines. Front yard was completed yesterday. He brought a helper and pushed hard. I am more than pleased with the result and the price. He quoted the backyard for me which I accepted. He will knock that off next week. More area to do, but no lawn to remove and 40% cheaper. Not much planned today. I will probably avoid the crowd and skip going to the fireworks down in Old Town. Picked up a couple strip steaks for the Weber to go with some grilled onions and a salad. Low Carb/Keto is going well. Pants are getting uncomfortably loose and the scale is happy. Blood work showed my Glucose is almost back in the happy zone after 2 1/2 weeks of changing my eating. More than pleased.

Late check in again. Heard yesterday that DSIL’s father passed away after a 6 month battle with blood cancer complicated by misdiagnosed symptoms, infected IV ports, inability to eat. Very likable guy, who will be sorely missed, especially by the three GKs we shared.
Enjoyed a sudden change in weather from hot and muggy to cool and dry this morning and warm and sunny this afternoon. DD stopped by and we got some Chinese food nearby.
