    Mental toughness? Hunh. For me, it increases my "weenie factor". I become more of a weenie, the longer the run.

    I find it interesting that according to the article long distance easy training pace can be determined "based on runner's world calculations and formulas of Jack Daniel's" ! I find hard liquor impairs my running. :-)

    No seriously...great article and good info!

    ( I love the description of physical changes even at the cellular level. It conjures images in my mind of the opening sequences of a super hero movie when he/she is metamorphosing and the camera is zooming through images of microscopic views of the body! LOL!)

    Great, that ruins my whole idea of eating like a pig on Saturday (my cheat day) and running long on Sunday.
