Meeting up with a friend for a short hike. Temp is in the 50s right now with a cloudless sky. Glad I'm not sizzling in Steve or Sam's area.
I should be able to hear results from my stress test today or tomorrow. Hoping it's normal enough to not require further testing.
Have been mating piano hammers to strings. The face of the felt hammer head has to strike all three strings at the same time or the note will sound weak and muffled. Pressing the hammer lightly agains the strings with one hand, pluck each string with a pick and compare the sounds. Sand a narrow line at the high point till they all sound the same. Tedious and time consuming, I did a few at a time, but it's done now. Next is tuning. It's all out of tune after removing the bass strings and putting them back. This may be a project that will never really end…
Have a good day everyone. And stay cool.

Good morning!
Nasty, nasty heat and humidity continuing here.
We are finally meeting with a dietician today. I'm hoping she says we are going too far to an extreme with Connie's diet and that we can enjoy some real food with moderation. I feel like we only have 3 or 4 things that Connie can eat, and none of them taste good. Connie greatly restricts what spices I can cook with.
I'm going to limp my truck about 6 miles on back streets to a guy who specializes in rebuilding old transmissions. I'm going to try that this morning as we meet with the dietician this afternoon.
Bill, it is wonderful to hear about your improvements in motion. Prayers are being answered.
Mike, Connie has a Baldwin mini grand piano. Is there any way to get to the dust on the sound board under the strings? You have advanced from tinkering with pianos to being a full-fledged expert now. That is so cool.
Have a great day!

Good morning gentlemen.
We checked in to the campground yesterday, set up our tent and sleeping arrangements, then came home. DS and family couldn't get there until today, so Rita and I decided to just stay in comfort one more night. The park is only six miles from our house. Interestingly, many others in the campground are also locals. It is a gem we know, but outsiders don't expect. Good for us.

Good Morning
Our cloudy day yesterday turned sunny. It was beautiful. It was good to get out for a short unaided walk over to the labyrinth and prayer garden. I was a bit sore at the end but the more I get out the better that will get. We are making a short trip into Eugene today but want to be back for the farmers market at 4. Not much planned beyond that. I was up early to be on a Zoom call with some folks in the UK. Something about waking to an alarm leaves feeling a bit out of it.

I can't even imagine a heat index of 115degrees right now. We did break 116deg a few years ago shattering all the all time records for PDX but I was at the coast that day.
Glad ya had a nice quiet walk to the labyrinth/prayer garden Bill. I miss the Oregon Coast already and enjoyed our week there.
I wish I had more energy but who doesn't as we age????
Stay comfy all and continue to heal up!

Steve here’s a link to a soundboard dusting tool. The product page contains a video showing how to use it. I get most of my stuff from Howard’s, they’re a good company and easy to work with.

Good Afternoon,
Wanted to get haircut today, guy giving me an estimate for window cleaning took too much of my time.
Having to take DMIL to doctor this afternoon.
Energy is something I am short of, as they say if I knew I was going to live to be this old I might have taken more care and done more exercise.
Heat index over a 100 again today and expected to be there till 8 tonight when a chance of rain arrives, though I'm not going to hold my breath; folks around us getting rain but we barely got a sprinkle.
Bill, slow and steady, my PT person keeps telling me not to push recovery or I'll go backwards. No one has ever said I was a patient person.
Fingers crossed for a good fair transmission repair Steve. If shop does not workout try vocation school; where my kids went to school, they taught auto mechanics and if one paid for parts they would do repairs when it concurred with lesson plans.
