I've been enjoying swimming laps at the hotel pool here in Atlantic Beach FL. I will miss it. Although, the turns have been a little much for my recent knee replacement. The thrusting has caused significant soreness and swelling. It is a relatively short pool, so lots of turns in a 45 minute session. That is what ice packs are for, I guess. Today, I will stop and stand at the shallow end instead of doing the touch and turn I've been doing. That will slow me down a bit, but will decrease the turns by 50%.

Last day in Florida, tomorrow Denver. I will not miss this humidity. Although only 94 degrees yesterday, the heat index was 108. And it doesn't get below 80 degrees at night. Denver, on the other hand drops down to 61 degrees at night and the high of 88 and the heat index is 88.

I plan on getting hearing aids when in Colorado. I am convinced it is necessary at this point.

I feel your pain about your kitchen woes, Steve. It is no fun when the person/s you are cooking for dislikes what you put so much effort into preparing for them. Maybe if you think of it like hitting a pro baseball pitching, batting .300 (3 out of 10) is really good.

    Onward and downward ;-)

    Good morning gentlemen.

It's 47 degrees right now, in Tumwater, Lee, heading for a high of 76. You're welcome to come visit any time.

The last of the camping stuff was put away, yesterday. Now we start looking at the road trip we are taking with the grandkids in a week.

    Good Morning

I never understood Florida’s attraction after growing up in NYs heat and humidity. We took it easy yesterday and meandered around downtown for a couple hours. The big event was the opening of the drawbridge on the 101 so a tall commercial fishing boat could head out to sea for several days. I made shrimp tacos on small low carb tortillas for dinner and unintentionally finished my day under 1000 cals. But wasn’t hungry. Weight loss and keto is going well. I made peace with Keto so it’s a lot easier with a positive attitude. I’d kill for fish and chips however. It’s on every menu.

Been churched, meeting this afternoon, need to go to a reception this evening.

Joanne was able also to go to church this morning.

Busy week coming up with DW's appointments.

Continues VERY HOT and HUMID; actual temps over 100 some days

    Safe travels Lee.

Steve, I've been doing most of cooking unless someone brings in food; and had to change diet due to Joanne's fatted liver; but we have gotten it from a stage III down to I. She loves bread, potatoes, and fried foods; I no longer fry foods, fix very little bread and potatoes get sprayed with Pam and put in air fryer. Fruit is put on table every meal, fresh cherries, cantaloupe, pineapple, strawberries, blueberries till they were gone, watermelon, peaches, apples. By limiting other stuff I fix she turns to fruit if still hungry. For a cold treat get frozen fruit out of freezer. Her A1C is down to 6.7 and blood sugar is staying in low 100's which has cut down on amount of insulin needed.
