Issues with Metformin

Okay i need to findout if anyone else has had the same issue right now. I'm currently 73 days between and still NADA. I was diagnosed July 17 this year. I was put on 500mg of Metformin extended release. After hitting 67 days with no cycle i called my Doc and they doubled my doseage, still NADA. I'm now haveing slight gastrointestinal issues, but nothing i can't handle. Isnt being on the Metformin supposed to help and not make things worse. Before the Met i was about 40 days. I'm even more frustrated because i've GAINED the last few weeks. I'm beyond denial stage that there is something wrong and moved on to the anger stage!
