Memorial service at a church today for DSIL’s dad.

Much cooler than last few days, mid-70’s, and rain coming all afternoon and night. And tomorrow mid 60’s.

still unpacking car, but tinkered last night with patching a chip in the front edge of an ivory piano key. Used white acrylic fingernail mixture with a pinch of yellow and purple chalk dust added to match ivory color. Almost invisible unless you get real close. 3 others to do.

Me dad used to say, “Everyone wants to live a long life, but nobody wants to get old.“

    Onward and downward

    Good morning!

Mike, I am glad that you had a nice camping trip.

Bob, that is FANTASTIC news on your PSA score!

Sam, prayers not only continue for you and for Joanne, but also for DMIL. That is a tough situation for your family, I'm sure.

We are finally getting a few days of cooler weather. Perhaps I can enjoy it a bit today. Today will still be more humid, but tomorrow, Saturday, and Sunday are suppose to be fantastic.

I have an 11:30 dentist appointment to have a tooth prepared for a crown. With numbness, that might mean a late to no lunch. Not a recommended diet.

    Have a great day!

    Good morning gentlemen.

Great news on the test, Bob.

There is a fire burning over on the Olympic Peninsula. It doesn't make the national news because it is only 1,100 acres. But that is almost two square miles, and it has now burned some of the ancient forest I regularly hike through. I am heart broken. You can't replace a forest of 800-year-old trees. The fire started July 6. It is human caused; illegal fireworks suspected.

Legs were tired all day, yesterday, from the hike on Tuesday. Better today. I plan some shop time.

    Good Morning

Bob, great to hear the good report. I am impressed the score went down. It is always good news when you can avoid hormone therapy. That is where my original Urologist and I fell out. He typically did it "to be safe" and didn't wish to discuss my concerns or his reasoning and got the axe. The Urologist I switched to also insisted on the High Resolution PSA test and looking at the various numbers and ratios as a whole. I learned a lot from him in our 2 meetings before we moved.

I had another good PT session with the final hip assessment and now officially working on the back. It is great to be making progress health-wise again. 18 mos of stomach problems post-radiation seem to be settling fown and 6 weeks into changing my diet has me down 14lbs as well. A long road ahead on weight and conditioning but I am happy to be on it and moving forward. Now I need a good result on yesterdays echo-cardiogram and a good PSA test in September.

I do feel blessed by my prostate treatment situation with my dear Doc trained at Duke. Every case is different for sure. Honestly many Docs told me that it was "standard protocol" to do the hormone therapy. I tried getting a second opinion but Docs are reluctant to say anything that different with a second opinion. I have enough issues having my other blood cancer (B-cell lymphoma non-hodgkins) which is for sure in bone marrow. I try to keep it as simple as I can and so far so good.

I am glad your stomach problems seem to be settling down. good luck on your echo-cardiogram and future PSA tests.

So sorry about the fires in the Olympic Peninsula Dave. Don't know if that will influence my son's decision to do the Traverse or not. I am certain a few years ago he would have done spectacularly well on it but not so sure now.

Oh gosh Sam I don't even begin to know how to feel about your situation with DMIL. Sad and frustrating indeed.

    Hang in there everybody.
