Sorry I didn't post yesterday…I had to work late and for two days now, my knee is hurting…I'm getting my steps in but moving slowly.
Monday steps = 10066

What do you think about reconfiguring this challenge next week and make it a “Workout” challenge? Maybe extend it to two weeks as well. We would still “team up” or “partner up” but we count Workout minutes
INSTEAD
of steps.
I have no problem doing that for next week's challenge, but personally, I can't really do a workout…I'm limited to just walking. If you guys don't mind me sitting out the challenge and just keeping score, let's do it! The only thing I do are my strength workouts for my arms and shoulders and that's only about 20-25 minutes. It's a great idea! What do the rest of you think?

Regarding a workout challenge:
Would it be specifically strength training workouts? Or could it be any kind of exercise?
One idea would be to encourage exercise that covers these three aspects of fitness: strength, cardio, and balance/flexibility. All three of these are important for good health and fitness — the last one is particularly important for older adults.
- strength — weights, bands, body resistance
- cardio (i.e. moving) — walking, running, hiking, cycling, swimming, kayaking, rowing
- balance/flexibility — yoga, Pilates, tai chi, stretching, etc.
- sports — pickleball, tennis, racket ball, soccer, etc.
- meditation/relaxation?
There could be a limit to how much time one can claim for each kind of exercise. Maybe allow only 10-20 minutes of meditation — enough to encourage doing it, but not give it undo credit.
full disclosure: I get in a lot of exercise! 😆
This was my total hours of exercise during July:
