    Good morning!

Today will be our last cooler day for a week or more, so I plan to spend a lot of time outside today with my camera. The forest fire smoke from Canada should be better today too.

The bathroom door now has two coats of paint on it, and will be hung tomorrow. I'm finally moving on this project again.

Today is Sunday rest day. Online church, photos, and not much else. I made some breaded, baked chicken breast over pasta last night for dinner. Connie declared it good. So, we have leftovers for dinner tonight. Sweet!

    Have a great day.

    Church this morning. Then?

Really nice hike yesterday with DD, thru hemlock forest and along rivers. Water was low but flowing, and bright red wildflowers grew from the stream bed. 4 miles. DD sets a good pace.

Like Bill, I started with ledger paper and ink, and still have Excel on my laptop, although I also use LibraOffice, a free spreadsheet. Don’t track exercise, although my phone told me the other day my avg daily steps had recently increased. Never knew it had been counting.

I keep a camping checklist on Excel with a dozen tabs for categories: clothing, cooking, shelter, etc. Otherwise I’d forget stove fuel or my sleeping bag or my CPAP hose, ruining the trip. Once I forgot eating utensils and DS and I had to open stew cans with a jackknife and carve spoons out of kindling to have supper… ahhh, memories.

Nice and cool again this morning.

    Have a nice Sunday.

    Good morning gentlemen.

We keep our camping equipment stored in bins, with inventory lists taped to the sides. I just load them when we are heading out.

The Bear Gulch fire is still growing. They haven't posted the morning update yet.

We're skipping church this morning. Too much hassle getting the grandkids up and ready to go. We're driving down to the Oregon Coast tomorrow for a few days. I'll pack this afternoon.

    Good Morning

We are warming up into the low 70's for a couple days as the breezes lessen. It might be a good evening to fire up the weber without the wind turbocharging the coals. We have an errand or two to run today but hopefully will find a nice walk to take. I am tempted to try the beach since i am doing so much better. Its pretty crowded, especially on weekends, at the beach and the coastal trails. Allergies laid me low yesterday but I turned in early and slept like a rock and am ready to have an active day.

Oh Steve so glad ya made something Connie liked.

Glad ya had a nice hike in wildflower bedecked forest and streams Mike.

Have fun on the Oregon Coast Dave.

We had a fun day at The Great Oregon Steam-up near Salem Oregon (Brooks/Kaiser area). Lots of antique steam powered tractors, old military jeeps and much more. Watched one guy cook a pot of beans in the furnace of his steam powered tractor. Just opened the metal door in front and pulled out a cast iron pot of beans. YUM!

The dust got to me a bit yesterday but mostly bothers my eyes as I don't have allergies or asthma to any great extent. They have 14 heritage museums on site with all kinds of stuff. My wife liked the model train museum for sure. woo woo! Also logging, blacksmith, flour milling (steam powered), military museum, trolley rides from old street car trolley, so much!

Got out for early ride to start the day so far.
