@takinitalloff , thanks for checking in with us over breakfast. ๐ŸŒž Good for you extending your streak. I really enjoyed the dog training suggestions. I will see how much we can practice with Lucy. The mindful eating resources also look cool. I read on that subject years ago, but wasnโ€™t ready for it at the time.ย

@SummerSkier , Bravo for those after work walks! And to answer your question, yes, we are getting help. Setting up visits from a home health nurse and PT. Also, my oldest daughter DD#1 is coming over to help during the day.ย

@TerriRichardson112 , Meditation with your DH sounds wonderful! What an amazing opportunity, and very wise of you to take advantage of it!ย

@Learningmoments , your sleep numbers are looking good. Thatโ€™s absolutely fantastic. My caregiver daughter DD#2 and I have figured out a nighttime shift schedule so that we arenโ€™t both awake all night tending to our dear patient DD#3. Twice the sleep!ย

@snowshoe072 , howโ€™s the foot ? I hope itโ€™s better. So frustrating to have time and energy to hike, but have to rehab an injury.ย

Very rough night last night, so Iโ€™m extra proud of myself for getting in my lifting workout. Then I did a Yoga for relaxation.ย ย Celebration song โ€œEye of the Tiger.โ€ย

@Michieb125 , good job with those habits! Doctor appointments are all part of the wellness journey, so they are worth the missed walk. Therapeutic massage sounds like such a great treatment.

@77tes we have just met, but my heart goes out to you during this time of caretaking of your DD #3! You are so fortunate to have a little help but I can attest itโ€™s so hard on everyone. I hope itโ€™s temporary and everyone stays healthy and strong during the recovery period. Being there a few times in my life, it seems the first few nights are tremendously difficult figuring out pain management, meals, and just finding a good routine to help the patient transition to home. Be proud of getting in your weight lifting and yoga! I believe we must pour into ourselves (or keep our exercise routine when possible) so we are better able to help our loved ones. Best wishes to all.

The foot? Getting better with a little help from kt tape buts itโ€™s hard to tape your own foot but I guess I did ok I just feel like I am falling apart ! I have decided it must be OA effecting other joints especially when they are injured butโ€ฆ.I am a person who will forge ahead I even took Koda for our morning walk with my 8lb vest on really trying to get the weight work in. Trying to keep the bones strong. ๐Ÿ‹๏ธ

Today was another busy, stressful day. We ate out at our favorite buffet. I stayed mindful of what and how much I got. Still everything with restaurants are high calories. Went for a bike ride (16 miles) to burn off major calories.

@Michieb125 I was hoping you would say Yoga with Adriene. She is fabulous. I once heard her refered to the Bob Ross of yoga. If you aren't familiar with him, he is an artist that offered tutorial shows and was very calm and soothing. Adriene is the same way. Have fun with it. I also saw that Vonda Wright had a new book. Our library didn't have that one, so I may have to purchase that one. She sounds very knowledgeable. I appreciate the recommendations.

@TerriRichardson112 Your morning meditation with hubby sounds great. That would be a good bonding activity too.

@77tes Sounds like DD#3 has a dedicated, organized team. She is very fortunate. You guys sound like you have a good plan of care set up. Very important that everyone gets enough sleep and care for each other and self so that you can be at your best. Great job!

4 walks in the evening done. The morning started out with a nice cooler 69 and north breeze but it was over 100 yesterday so proud I kept it going.

@77tes I think you have found the key to getting thru this. Keep up YOUR activity and a stronge support network.

My foot has also been bothering me Snowshoe but like you I just feel like I need to keep going. This is sort of a different area in the same foot from my original injury so it could be related, could be something I did. ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ I like the KT tape but don't really use it on this location which smells like exstensor tendinitus based on symptoms and supposedly will heal with normal stuff.

Didnโ€™t get to yoga until 8:35 pm yesterday. This was due to some interruptions helping with family (excusable) but I made it happen! After 5 days in a row, I am feeling the benefits of practicing on and off the mat. However, this pushed my nighttime routine back a bit.

    Happy Friday!

Today I had both swim classes. I walked to finish off 10,000 steps. I feel like the extra sleep is paying off. Today I felt so much stronger. I had more energy, and my legs aren't bothering me near as bad. I look forward to see what the extra sleep is offering me at the end of the month. Everyone is doing great! You guys are so inspiring. @77tes I can't tell you how much I appreciate you mentioning about the workout button on FitBit. I completely forgot about it. It shows a lot of cardio that would not of got noticed without it.

@Michieb125 , you are so right about the caregivers taking care of themselves. We are scheduling it so my DD#2 can play softball on Sunday and Iโ€™m hoping to go dancing next Friday although that will be trickier. We have a wonderful support system.ย ย Yoga is a great habit to start in September. It worked for me.ย

@snowshoe072 and @SummerSkier , sorry those foot issues are still bothering you both. KT tape is super cool, but I dare say doesnโ€™t work everywhere.ย

@snowshoe072 , Love the weighted vest. I want to get into rucking, and my DD#2 just puts a dumbbell in her backpack when she walks Lucy.ย

@Learningmoments , that is funny that you got two days with the same sleep hours!ย ย Iโ€™m guessing that is a sweet spot for you.ย

Today I felt a little tired so did a slower, shorter bike ride. 10miles. I had planned to walk with a friend this afternoon, but it rained so I thought I would play around. I did yoga and an arm workout. (11 minutes 5 lbs.) I was surprised how shaky I felt after. Whew! I need to do more of that.

@hcoleman232 Great job on the planner. It is hard to express ourselves in planners. I find it is easier to write what was your favorite part of the day or what you are thankful for. Some people have googled journal prompts and use those. Keep playing around with it. You will get it.

@Michieb125 That is so cool you could tell a difference both on and off your mat from yoga in such a short time. You are inspiring me to get back to it. Great work!

@77tes You are doing amazing with your weight training and getting spin into a busy schedule. I am so proud of you. That is TOUGH while caring for others. I LOVE your daily song. It brings so many happy memories of songs I haven't heard in a while. When I saw two days on my sleep the same, that is what I thought about. It will be interesting to see what happens.

@snowshoe072 & @SummerSkier Hope the foot injuries are feeling some better. I know what you mean about the weather. We have had some better temps with lower humidity and other days are blazing.

@TerriRichardson112 So nice to hear from you. Thanks for the weekly update. Hope everything is going well.

6 days done and done. It was threatening rain but I got a nice reward for getting out altho I will admit to being very tired and lethargic most of the day after my run. I think my latest foot thing is getting better and I can start to see the tendons behind my toes again. So my first injury in late May was a 10 - 10-12 weeker (probably fracture bone in foot). the 2nd one my knee was a reoccurance from years ago and I give it a 5 - 4-6 week recovery. This one looks like a 2. 2-4 week recovery. โ€ฆ.. ๐Ÿ˜ณ

AHA! @hcoleman232 nice to see the broccoli back! I will admit to making lunches with a mixture of broccoli, cauli (like rice) and 1/2 or 1/3 package of whatever my tastes are asking for. The variety is nice altho sometimes I have too many servings to split up.

Everyone seems to be progressing nicely this month! I am also trying to make sure I get my flossing and balance in from some previous months. I will admit to have some backlash feelings when I was really be very overly diligent on my teeth and ended up needed fillings and a crown replacement anyway. Sort of a why bother type rebellion. But then I think how much worse it would have been if I had NOT been diligent?๐Ÿ˜

1 week of afternoon walks done. And I managed to floss and do a little balance too. Win for the day. These vines are so prolific here I wanted to get a picture of the bud and the runner all curled up included.

Hope everyone had a great weekend! It has cooled off just a little here (my AC did not run all night!) and I might have tennis in the plan this week if my neighbor has recovered from his sinus infection.

I did have a not so great experience yesterday. My battery dies on my truck at the grocery. Well luckily I have AAA but my neighbor did come over to jump start me (I need a new battery i think). Anyway, standing in a busy parking lot at the grocery on a Sunday morning with the hood of my truck up. It used to be that a lot of folks would stop and ask if I needed help. Not a single person stopped they all walked on by. And me looking so cute and old lady too. Is this just a sign of the times? Anyway, *** I *** want to be the person who asks if they can help and not the person who walks by. So a lesson for me.

Yesterday: I woke up in the middle of the night and was all congested. I wound up staying up several hours. So not a good night sleep. Only 11 minutes deep sleep. I finally went back to bed at 4:00 and slept several hours. Surprisingly I woke up feeling pretty good. So I went for a bike ride 16 miles. I really pushed it and finished it in an hour and 31 minutes. I was super happy, but realized toward the end, I probably should not have pushed it quite so hard, but it was good. Then yesterday afternoon, I walked with a friend 4 miles. I felt really excited that I am improving. Surprised I feel so good today. Yesterday, I really tried to focus on getting more protein. I think that helped a lot.

@snowshoe072 Sounds like a delicious birthday dinner. I think it is okay to go over calories on special occasions. It is the random day that hurts. You are doing a great job.

@SummerSkier I am glad to hear your latest injury is doing better. I know you have had a time with it. I love your pictures. I have never seen that flower/vine. It is so unusual and beautiful. I know sometimes it can be disheartening when we are doing the right thing (flossing) and still get gravities. Like you said, it may have been worse. Keep up the good work. I agree about no one stopping to help. A few years back, I forgot my phone and just wanted to let hubby know. I stopped at several stores and explained I wanted to use their phone and why and several of them refused. I told them they could just dial and tell my husband and still they refused. I was so shocked.

@77tes It is amazing how good sleep changes everything. You may have to take up Italian. lol.

@Michieb125 I usually wind up drinking water too late so I do have to get up in the middle of the night, but I use the light of my FitBit to see my way to the bathroom. Usually I can go right back to sleep. Being a caregiver is very hard. I think it is important to listen to your body even though I hate when it tells me I should take it easy. The body know and will MAKE you take a break if you don't. I didn't always know how to listen. Now I ask myself why do I feel like not exercising. It helps a lot. I hate when it says I need several days off. Then I really question if I really need a day off or not. You are doing a super job. Keep it up. Hope hubby gets better soon.

@SummerSkier that sucks! I have noticed the same, some people will help but most just look away or let the door slam in your face thatโ€™s when I make sure to thank them ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚. Do you think itโ€™s the strange world we live in now? I do no one wants to be blamed or become a victim sad state.

We are joining her 4 mornings a week, as we go out early on Wed morning to do our weekly grocery shopping. I have reset my morning alarm so that I can join DH.

I felt like I was a bit whiny about the incident at the store but I was extremely grateful that my neighbor came out and helped instead of me waiting hrs or AAA. I think folks are just too busy and assume you have it handled sometimes. I probably have been guilty of the same. Sort of like when you don't want to look the pan handler in the eye at the stop light?

Anyway, starting week 2 strong with 2 runs and a walk! And it's nice and cool this morning so I will see if my body is up for more exercise this morning.

The flower is a passion of christ I believe and has some religious meanings in some groups but I just think it is so complex and beautiful.

Yesterday's evening walk was a little bit cooler than last week and maybe the habit is getting easier? One of my hibiscus was blooming when I got home and was watering and I loved the way the afternoon sun and shadows were playing with the color.

Whew! Yesterday was a rough one. Seemed like everything went haywire. No activities, lot of stress, and scratching my head wondering how so many things can get messed up. Seems like no body does their job correctly anymore. Today is another day and hopefully can get these messes under control. Enjoy your day.

@SummerSkier You weren't being whiny. Sometimes we need to vent, sometimes we just share our observations. Either way, we are here for each other. I love your gorgeous pictures. So many interesting flowers.
