Sam, that is very disappointing about your dinner at Longhorn. Hoping the nursing home will be better for DMIL, with all that Joanne has going on with her health, I'm sure it made dealing with her mom's issues even tougher. Prayers for Charlotte.

Take care of that shoulder, Steve. Funny how dogs can be so different. My knuckleheads think nothing about the rain, often just sitting out in a downpour, not taking shelter unless the wind starts whipping.

I am still chuckling over a comment a guy at the boat launch made when as I was pulling the boat out the water Sunday afternoon. Lucy had hopped out of the boat and then immediately went crashing into the reeds off to the side and into the water near a beaver lodge. The guy said with some amusement, "I guess your dogs like the water."

    How's the head feeling, Dave?

Boy, I hope you can figure out how to get better sleep, Bill. I know I feel better when I am consistently scoring above a 75 for sleep on my fitbit. Did I mention I stopped gabapentin? There are some recent studies out about the correlation of gabapentin use and earlier onset of dementia, and although I was using a really low dose, I stopped it. I do think my sleep scores were better when I was taking 100mg just before bed, but only marginally. So now it is just tylenol ER before bed.

    Onward and downward ;-)

    Mornin' gentlemen.

A wall of fog outside, and they promised us rain, but it's not raining. AS my folks used to say, the only thing you can do about the weather is complain about it.

Food dehydrating for camping is all done. Plenty for the week of camping, and I think I have enough put away for the apocalypse.

Lee, when you and your dogs hunt, is it just field birds or do they retrieve waterfowl, too?

Steve, hope that arm heals up quickly.

Have been tracking for two weeks; no real change in weight. Will try to look back in the app and review. I do need to up the veggies. Onward and onward…

Waterfowl as well, but we rarely go duck hunting due to the extreme amount of prep and gear required.

    Good morning!

I have a dog asleep again on the floor in front of me, and a cat on my lap. Life is good.

My shoulder still hurts. I bought some Icy Hot last night, and that helped me sleep better. I think that my shoulder is getting better, but it is a slow process. I don't feel like doing much right now.

    Prayers continue for Charlotte.

Mike, when is the week long trip? Do you still pack a battery for the CPAP?

    Have a great day.

    Good morning gentlemen.

I feel better, but still a bit stopped up and have a residual cough. I ventured out yesterday, for the first time in a week, and was surprised at the color showing in many of the trees. Fall is definitely here in the PNW.

I want to get ion the shop to work on a yarn bowl. Making one involves cutting out a curved slot that guides the yarn as it comes off the ball. A couple weeks ago we ran into a fellow who has purchased several of my pieces. He was lamenting that he hadn't been able to buy one of the yarn bowls I made last year, so I will try to have one for him at this year's bazaar.

    Good Morning

Interesting comment on Gabapentin. I was on 3600mg/day for years. I have been off it for a year but am about to refill my old prescription since I have been having some nerve pain at times. It woke me up this morning and once I get it into a better position and get it under control I am wide awake. I want to have some just in case. My cold/flu etc is slowly improving with energy slowly returning. But I do have to rest from time to time and take cold tabs and stomach pills. Yesterday was a stunningly beautiful day and one of the warmest we have had but with a bit of a breeze. The drive to Eugene was easy and beautiful with leaves beginning to change and fall against the backdrop of evergreens. Temps spiked up to 78 in the afternoon while I was at the farmers market. I had to pass on my usual post market walk due to fatigue. Nothing planned today except laundry, practice and cleaning up paperwork. I will roast some fresh veggies to go with our pork loin tonight. Hopped on the scale yesterday for the first time in 4 weeks. I have been drifting, but I was down over 2lbs so I haven't strayed too far. I will be tightening that up and am starting tracking for a season to see how its going numbers wise.

Gaba Gaba Gaba Doo! Well this scooby doo never got relief from Gabapentin which I tried a couple of times so I don't use it. whatever works just do it!! I know that some of the combination drugs at the local dispensary would work miracles for me should I need them. I ate 1/2 of a cookie one time that was made with some sort of THC butter and had zero pain for 12 hours. Waaaaaaay better than any opioids or Gabapentin in my system. I was "high" for a couple of hours but then just painfree for another 10 hours. Some of these combinations apparently don't produce much of a high but do provide remarkable pain relief for many.

I have in the past taken 1/2 of a low dose Diazepam (Valium) before bedtime which helped but haven't done that for over a year.

Glad your cold/flu is subsiding Bill. I am hoping my flu and covid shots spare me from some things. We topped out at our house at 86degrees yesterday and will be close to that today too I think.

I eschewed buying any beer at the store today as I need to do better and lose a few pounds. I was only consuming 6oz to 12 oz typically in a day but I probably snack more too when consuming.

Prayers indeed for Charlotte and Joanne.

    hang in there folks
