    @Michieb125 I like your goals.

    @snowshoe072 My heart goes out to you during this challenging time with your mom. Take care of yourself. Prayers for you. Great job getting to your guitar & reading. You need that. We all need that enrichment part of our lives.

    @Gigi_815 I love how when you noticed you were eating mindlessly, you reminded yourself of your tools. It is a great reminder for myself. Thank you for sharing that! Your exercise class sounds amazing! I love variety. Rarely do you find a class that incorporates that much variety.

    @donna25trinity Great idea to have the pictures to keep motivation up. So many ways to remind ourselves of progress. Don't beat yourself up. There are no fails if you are learning. Keep up the good work.

    @hcoleman232 Great job resisting the candy. Good work on the core. Todays workout is tomorrows warmup. Keep at it. Hope your knee feels better soon. Glad you listened to your body.

    @77tes That is so cool you visiting/exercising with your sister. The meet up in the park sounds very fun. Great job replacing the flooring. That is a lot of work. Talk about a non-scale victory!

    I made a new schedule with a lot of small habits I would like to do. I will need to see how my cues, action, and rewards do. I am excited. I have several dinners out this week. Today was one and I saved half of it for supper. Tomorrow will be lots of covered dishes. Friday will be Taco Bell. So I will pick something lower in calories before I go. Keep up the great work everyone. I am working at getting back on track.

    Out to eat with friends and I changed my order at the last minute. I had visualized myself eating this beautiful salad, and instead ordered chicken bruschetta with fruit. Sounds harmless. Unfortunately it came on a huge focaccia bun and I was overcome with guilt and shame for not sticking to my plan. I still could have set the bread to the side, but I ate every crumb. I ate it with small, slow, mindful bites, but I still felt shame. I am a smart woman and I know that a food does not have the power to cause me so much negative emotion. It was my disappointment in my lack of willpower. The focaccia wasn’t even that good. I can do better.

    Exercise class today was a circuit training with handweights, resistance bands, and s little cardio. I already feel stronger.

    @donna25trinity , ah, I hear you on the monster 👿 of sugar cravings! Don’t beat yourself up. It could have been worse. You didn’t knock down your son and steal his ice cream. 😂 It looks like you made the next day a glowing success!

    @snowshoe072 , so glad you had a good day with your mom. ❤️‍🩹 Celebrate those days - they are extra special. And hooray for an active day that included playing your guitar 🎸 🤩

    @Learningmoments , @I love you small habits plan! 🙌 I’m better with celebrating, but I always struggle with cues. Maybe I should make my cue, “Every time Lucy digs a hole, I will do one pushup.” I’d definitely get a lot of exercise. 😂It’s great that you’re planning a strategy for dealing with eating out. That can be hard to manage.

    @Gigi _815, cue the Rocky theme music: 🎶 “Getting Stronger…” 🎶 That exercise class sounds amazing! 💪 No shame in eating a focaccia bun. One thing to consider: were you too hungry when you zagged off plan?  I had that problem on my last long fasting day. I had a bit of a saltine cracker snack attack before dinner, but I know that the reason was being too hungry and trying to push myself too much to wait until dinner. BTW, one of my eating out shockers was when I ordered a “diet/low fat salad dressing option and learned after I’d eaten it that it was far more calories than my preferred creamy ranch dressing 🤯. Please celebrate your workout success instead of feeling guilty about a food choice.

    Second lifting session this week. 🏋️🏋️ Also my screen time is way down compared to the previous week, so my No is working.

    @Gigi_815 Please don't beat yourself up. Instead think of it as a learning experience. Usually there is a reason why you change the plan at the last minute. Sometimes it is something that catches your eye and your brain says, "YUM!". I do that. When I change at the last minute, I ask myself if this is what I want to do and then go with my decision. Have back up rules like I will just have a small amount, be mindful and really enjoy it. Save half for later, do more exercises. Remember, we want to experience all of life. We just need to have a plan so we don't go off the cliff. Btw, when we do go over the cliff, try to find a ledge to land on and climb back up. It is only one day. The knowledge that you gain from that one day can build your habits stronger. Your class sounds like it is awesome!

    @77tes Great job on less screen time. Your strength training habit is so strong. I am proud of you.

    @snowshoe072 Wonderful to enjoy your family. Riding the wave is all you can do, but it sounds like you are doing well. It is a horrible, unpredictable disease. Great job maintaining the scale.

    My mini-habit schedule is slowly wharfing. I started the audio of Atomic Habits. I also started a series Optimizing Your Brain on Hoopla through the Great Courses. I tried a new stength training workout. It was a little different. So weird to just say it is okay to just do a little bit. Then I went to swim class luncheon. Lots of covered dishes to try. I was very mindful and took only a little bit of all of it. I did not try to log it, but felt I did okay. I needed to do some cardio, but didn't get to that. My schedule of habits are still like stabbing in the dark. I need to work on the cue.

    Thanks all. I agree no use in beating yourself up after a slip. Being mindful is revealing deep-seated emotional responses that surprise me. The food itself has no power. Out to dinner last night and enjoyed a beautiful Cioppino. Enjoyed each bite and did not feel compelled to eat it all.

    @Learningmoments I loved Atomic Habits.
    @77tes Great on the lifting! I'm digging out the hand weights to add some strength moves at home.

    @snowshoe072 , so glad you had a lovely day with family. Riding the wave is a very apt phrase.

    @learningmoments, Good job on that covered dish luncheon. Enjoy Atomic Habits and your Course from Hoopla, at sounds like a good one.

    @Gigi_815, Celebrating your success!

    @TerriRichardson112 , 🙌 bravo on your core focus!

    I got on my spin bike for the first time this month.  All my walking takes up my spinning time, but we’re expecting rain next week, so I might get a chance to use it more.

    I went to my granddaughter’s poetry slam Friday night. 🥰 It was great to support her, but my eating plan went smash, and I went over my calorie goal. I resisted the leftover Halloween candy, but ate a donut. Oops!

    @snowshoe072 thinking of you and sending encouragement. My MIL had a very slow 10-years plus of decline and I don’t wish this on anyone. I understand how hard it can be and it takes a special gem to be there for her. Keep taking care of yourself as best as you can.

    It’s great to see so many of you reaching your exercise goals - keep it up!

    NO going over caloric intake leading up to Thanksgiving Day (hard) - working it this week ✅

    NO to things that are not uplifting or fulfilling (easy) - ✅
    NO to meeting other people’s expectations (so much better with age)! ✅

    YES to continuing my physical and mental health goals!

    Did yoga stretches twice this week ✅

    Going on my walks today and tomorrow! Been fighting a cold so motivation is rough, grrrr……

    A nice late fall day very damp and windy. Winter weather advisory for tomorrow will see what presents itself. Cold walk with Koda this morning but we did it now I am going to curl up with a book.

    Thanks to all of you who have wished my family well, as sad as the disease is it is comforting to know so many folks have walked this path before us. Thank you for your support. 😊

    Hi all!

    5k training is going well. The tendons around my knee are still a bit sore when starting out, but relax once I get going. I’ll be shopping for new running shoes today and see if that makes a difference. Wednesday I ran on grass to take a break from hard surfaces.

    This week at work I said yes to a few NO treats. A donut on First Friday, a lollipop and a bite size 3 musketeers. Oh, well 🤷‍♀️

    Everyone’s doing great! Keep it up!

    Hi everyone! SOrry to join late but I did not bookmark so I had to actually remember to come searching my groups. 😅

    What an awesome opener @77tes I am going to have to remember that as all the food starts making it's way around. I think I said "no" on Friday to donuts but that is about normal for me so I can't count that as new. I did say "no" to my lash lady yesterday tho. I had decided to give her one more chance (kind of the 3rd try) and she texted me she was feeling so much better. So I got there my usual 5 min before my appt and when I walked in she said Ill just be a few minutes. Well by 20 minutes later I decided to just walk away. I don't min waiting a little but after the shenanigans the last time I figured that was it. I am going to stop with the lash extensions for a while and save some money I am not sure that anyone really notices them anymore… hahahahha. I feel like after we turn a certain age we are mostly invisible. Which in some ways is VERY freeing.

    I am still considering what habit to work on so Nov might be a chill month for me just checking in with everyone here and getting ideas.

    @michieb215, sorry you’ve got a cold. Good job sticking to your goals. Strength training has been the hardest habit to incorporate for me. Oh my I just remembered that my word for the year is STRONG! I had totally forgotten that, so I guess the fact that I’ve been grappling with the habit all year makes sense!

    @snowshoe072 , ah, curling up with a book and a warm beverage sounds perfect for a winter weather advisory day. Especially after a cold walk.

    @hcoleman232 , I hope the new shoes help your knee feel better. They say you need to replace running shoes after 300-500 miles, which doesn’t take very long when you’re training regularly. You’re doing great!

    @SummerSkier , glad to see you. You can say no to an extras since you are already so active. Good call on saying no to your lash lady. Ha ha! I enjoyed your comment about being invisible after a certain age. Are we invisible or do we just not care?  🫥 / 😑

    Nice slow Saturday, but got in all the things I needed to do.

    @hcoleman232 WAY TO GO! My apple watch is not good at picking up my HR when I run consistently so I use a chest HRM for more accuracy.

    @77tes you are exactly right about we just give less of a worry about what others think about us for sure!

    @donna25trinity I think the swimsuit is an excellent motivator and progress judge. I use that too altho I like to sunbathe for about 15 to 20 minutes in private and I can feel how the suit fits.

    We had quite the chill the past few days - but nothing frosty or freezing so my morning glories are still hanging in there. Not much else to report.

    @snowshoe072 hang in there. I have been in your shoes and I think will be there soon again with my brother which saddens me greatly and sort of hangs in the back of my mind like mortality.

    @hcoleman232 , Great run!  When is your race?

    @SummerSkier , good point about a swimsuit picture being a great motivator. That reminds me that I should try on my accountability pants. I did get brave and order the next smaller size of workout pants.

    @donna25 trinity, Hooray 🙌 - a scale as well as a non-scale victory!

    Congrats DOnna! That's a huge victory. 😀

    Lovely sunset @77tes just lovely pastel colors.

    My motivation has been down this month altho physically I am recovered from all the stuff for some reason it seems like my metabolism took a dive and my energy is lagging. I am taking a break from weighing this month and trying to just keep up with tracking and doing workouts.

    Crazy busy days, which can be a challenge for me. I lose my mindfulness, grab convenient food, and get way off plan.
    I’m not giving up. This pace is my reality. There is much to be learned (and adjusted) as I continue working toward being a mindful, deliberate eater. 🌟💜
