@TeresaW2024 Thank you ! I do, too. Mac and cheese is one of the best things! I'm sorry things are tough right now, but I think you are right about it being expected. I hope you have a nice weekend.

@Veta2018 I love Lady Gaga and will happily join your dance party !

@19shmoo69 I hope the doctor can figure it out .

@Katmary71 Thanks , me too! And thanks, I am enjoying being an artist when I can. The researcher is the biggest PITA, but I will not have to deal with her after this Thursday. Some of the plans got canceled but not all. Great megamix, I'll save a dance for you! I'm glad you are adopting the black kitty, she is gorgeous! I hope you get some rest.

Hi all. I got up at 3 am, I just have a hard time sleeping in since the time change. The gallery walk we had scheduled for today got canceled because of the rain, so I don't know what we will get into. I know I have an art opening later. We had grilled cheese and soup for dinner, which was nice when it was raining.

    Water intake yesterday: 12 oz

No Bake Cranberry Orange Snack Balls

    Ingredients

    • 1 cup raw cashews (you can substitute different nuts)
    • 1 cup dates
    • 1 cup dried cranberries (craisins)
    • 1 Tbsp chia seeds
    • 1 tsp orange extract
    • grated rind of 1 orange

    Instructions

Put all ingredients in a food processor and process until the mixture will stick together when you press it into a ball. Scoop the mixture into balls of about 2 tsp (I use a cookie scoop). Wet your hands and roll them into balls. I used additional chia seeds to coat them (because the balls are sticky). You could also use sesame seeds or coconut, but that might change the flavor of the finished product. I put the balls in snack bags, 2 per bag, and freeze them. Rich takes them to work for snacks. This is a new variation on some of my other snack ball recipes.

@Veta2018 That video gave me flashbacks to my 80s life, where there might have been a few house parties along the way. 😀

@19shmoo69 Prayers for your family during this difficult time with your son’s epilepsy. Hopefully, the doctor will be able to adjust his meds, and he will become seizure-free. 🙏

@micaroo4 Thank you for your wise advice, and it’s so in line with my prayer that I had last night. I could feel God telling me just to be still and get over my guilty feelings that I should be doing something instead of letting this be a season of healing and rest. I’m trying! 🙂 That snack ball sounds delicious!! I don’t know if I could control myself and not eat them all at once. 😀

@Katmary71 Awe, what will your little black kitty be named? Lucky 13 maybe! 😀I think it’s good that you are going to take a break, and maybe you need to consider letting go of needing to be at the adoptions and agree to just foster the kittens. You could always type up little cards that describe each baby for those who will help get them adopted.

@trooworld  I like that reminder on reasons not to give up. There is no reason to postpone until January. We in the diet world have such an all-or-nothing mindset, and it really should be a mindset of flexibility, where we don’t give up entirely on our goals, but figure out how to adjust and keep moving forward. 🙂

Good morning! I woke up sore from weight lifting yesterday, which is a good thing. Today is leg day, and I will need to be very careful and lift much lighter just to be sure that I can sit down tomorrow. Trooworld’s graphic is very timely for me because I have been thinking a lot about my health and the desperate need I have to get fit and healthy. Obesity-related diseases will become even more relevant once I enter my 60s. And I am blessed that I have no excuses. I work from home, have all the gym equipment I need, and complete control over what I eat. So, no excuses, right? 🙂

    Good morning Slims,

@bobboyardee yes I just started doing the same thing about 4 months ago . it is a lot easier.

@Cornanda YAY for the loss . I like dancing too. I turn it on and dance around the house when home alone. lol

@19shmoo69 You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers .

@DrewsAnna I have been doing the same thing . My sons room is now the office/cats room. We also had a guest room but no one uses it so I am going to use it for my craft room.

@Katmary71 it is a great Idea to take a break during this time of the yr

My new washer and dryer are great. Today I am working on decorating the new tree and setting out other Christmas things.

Not a hole lot going on here. I am hosting Thanksgiving this yr at my house. I have not done so in 5 yrs. I decided that instead of the turkey and ham we are going to do brisket and ribs.

I am feeling a little depression setting in but I will not let it take over this time. I am having dinner tonight with my long time childhood friends we have been doing this now once a month. Looking forward to seeing them.

Not much else going on so I will get out of here for now.

    Have a blessed day

    Hi 👋

Yesterday wound up being a very lazy day. It started ogg good, but then hubby and I both had one of those "lazy" days together. I didn't overeat or eat all the wrong things, I just didn't take the time to weigh, measure and track any of it. Normally, on days like that I eat all the wrong things and way to much of it.

I'm supposed to go to my grandsons last football game today, but the weather is nasty, so I have to miss it.

That's about all I have for now. Y'all have a great day 😀

    Good Morning-

Well, it's Sunday. How does the weekend go by so fast?! Today DS will be here to do laundry and watch football. I have a little bit more cleaning to do and I need to chop my veggies for the week. Also Gus is pretty stinky and will be visiting the tub. Exciting stuff! I KNOW! 😂 Yesterday I wore a top out of my "used to be too small" bin and also am into the smallest size jeans I own. Hooray!

@TeresaW2024 - I think God IS telling you that you need to rest and heal before you can figure out what's next. Being still gives you space to sort things out. And you don't have to figure it out all at once. (I would want to figure it out all at once). When I am restless and can't be still a walk is wonderful medicine. I enjoy nature, move my body and still have time to think. I am still praying for you.

@Veta2018 - DANCE PARTY! Thanks for the invite! Been meaning to say that you are crushing it on meeting your goals!

@19shmoo69 - it sounds like you found expert help in dealing with seizures- that's the good news. The bad news is the process won't be easy. It's hard when our kids struggle. Will keep your family in my prayers. I know that epilepsy can be well controlled and I pray that is the case for your son.

@DrewsAnna - I know that you crochet. What do you sew? What other crafts to you do? I aspire to do crafts, but don't actually accomplish much. I have a sewing machine but haven't done much with it lately. @txcritter69 - I'll throw on you this craft question too.

@Katmary71 - yes please tell us your new kitty's name and share a pic sometime. It sounds like the adoption events combined with kitten care were a lot. Maybe there is some balance there to be found going forward? Maybe not. I think you will enjoy having more time with your plants while you are taking a break.

@trooworld - well, is it still raining? What did you get into this weekend?

Another reason not to wait until January: It's easy to do a LOT of damage from Thanksgiving through New Years having last flings with eating.

@micaroo4 - you are doing some interesting things in the kitchen lately. Is this new or are you just sharing them with us now?

@txcritter69 - Yay for appliances and decorating and brisket (that sounds like a very TX Thanksgiving)- How was the dinner with your friends? Did it lift your mood?

    Lisa

@micaroo4 Thanks for the recipe , that sounds yummy.

@TeresaW2024 I thought it was a timely reminder : we seem to be getting quiet around here lol. You are right, it should be about flexibility, that's the only way to make it in the long run! How was leg day? If I go to the gym today, it will be leg day and I will end up having a hard time sitting down lol. You got this, Teresa, no excuses, you got this!

@txcritter69 I'm sorry about the depression , I hope it subsides quickly.

    @bobboyardee Good job !

@Cornanda Right ??? I blinked and it's Sunday....grrrrh! Wow, congrats on those NSVs! That's a great feeling, isn't it? It IS still raining, believe it or not (I find it hard to believe lol). I got into a whole lot of "not much": I played around with some gouache paints, went to the used bookstore, got coffee, and read. It was super relaxing!

Hi all. Since it rained most of the day, we went to the coffee shop and read. It was relaxing. We didn't go to the art opening. Once we got home, we didn't feel like going out again. I worked on some art and just hung out. Today, I have some errands to run. I haven't been to the gym all weekend, so maybe I'll go to the gym. However, I slept really poorly and am super tired, so we'll see. We are going to go to the perfume/cologne store, as there are some I want to get. I didn't feel like cooking, so dinner was air-fried frozen fries. That wasn't enough; I got hungry later, so I had some Trader Joe's lobster bisque. Like @Cornanda , I had a clothing NSV yesterday: I fit into these embroidered jeans that I bought 6 months ago and couldn't fit into.

    Water intake yesterday: 8 oz

@Cornanda - Lisa, ever since Rich was diagnosed with diabetes, I've been working at making recipes that don't raise his blood glucose. He likes a sweet treat for his afternoon snack, hence the snack balls experiments.

@Cornanda I'm not really much into sewing, and I don't know much about it, but I'm getting ready to embark on a huge project. Lol… I'm a "go big or stay home" kind of person. I'm getting ready to do a lot of learning about sewing and quilting.

    Hi 👋

It's football today 🏈💙💚 my Seattle Seahawks have been doing good this year.

Yesterday, I did go to my grandsons championship game and they won. I'm so glad I went!!

    20251115_133858.jpg

I think he's the one not wearing his helmet. #24.

After the game we went to Dairy Queen and got a cheeseburger. Then we went to a "celebration of life" a friend's dad passed away. There was a lot of food, and I managed to keep my wits about me and didn't gorge myself trying to eat everything. I feel so good about that. I ate veggies & fruit, and one brownie. I wasn't really hungry, but wanted to eat because everyone else was.

    Y'all have a great day 😀

    SW(Starting Weight): 180 lbs.

    PW(Previous Weight): 125.4 lbs.

    CW(Current Weight): 125.6 lbs

The past couple of weeks have been crazy. I've been traveling over an hour south of my home to help with my 71 year old uncle. I can't believe after being in the hospital for 6 weeks, they would just drop him off in front of his apartment. He was found walking the streets in his hospital socks. All the food in his fridge was rotten. Then, we travel over an hour north of our home to look after my father‐in‐law. We've also been making time to play with our grandson. I successfully color my hair brown. I had two of my back teeth pulled. When the numbness wore off I was in tears from the pain. They said no cardio or weight lifting. So, I will be doing Barre, yoga and walking. I'll dance too...hehehe.

@vegan4lyfe2012 Woo hoo , look at you, 1st place by pounds lost! Way to go! Another shout-out to @19shmoo69 and @Veta2018 for making it onto the leaderboard .

@Veta2018 That's terrible that the hospital did that . I'm glad you were able to help him. I'm sorry about the pain you've been in. Enjoy your dancing.

@sleepygirl79 Congrats on the loss !

Hi all. I didn't go to the gym yesterday after all. That's fine: our bodies need a break once in a while. I did my errands and went to the perfume/fragrance store, where I got some new perfume. Later in the day, I had to take the car to Sam's Club to get a tire rotation. It took nearly an hour to do, so I walked around the store while I waited. I found a cute dress and a shirt that had to come home with me. When I got home, I made sheet pan jambalaya, which was really good: instead of rice, it uses cauliflower rice. It was easy to make and I'll make it again. I slept better last night. Had I thought about the researcher being there today, I probably would have slept poorly.

    Water intake yesterday: 8 oz

@Veta2018 Your poor uncle! I’m glad he had you to come help him and hopefully he will be OK. I hate having teeth pulled and remember that pain. Take care of yourself! 🙂

@trooworld I am so freaking sore from leg day! Thankfully, today is upper body, so I will get one more day to hopefully be able to go at it again tomorrow. I have to keep quitting and starting weights because it’s just too painful. 🙄 OK, I want your easy sheet pan jambalaya recipe! 😀

Good morning! Last night was the church Thanksgiving potluck. It was fine, but my sister and I ended up sitting at the old lady's table, who were all widows. They told me all about how I should come with them to another church for their monthly senior adult luncheon. I’m like, “ladies, I’m NOT even 60 yet!” 🙄 Anyway, I didn’t overeat, which made me happy. Have a good day! 🙂
