My 90 day motivation is a cruise in early Dec!

Hi I'm Becky - I'm new to MFP, but I'm focused and motivated to lose as much as I can by Nov. 30th. I will continue after that, but a cruise to the Bahamas is what is keeping me motivated right now. I find that unless I have something to look forward to, I have a tendency to give up, cheat, or get lazy. I'm thinking if I can find a new, different motivation every 90 days (approx.) that it might help.

Is this a dumb way to stay motivated? Are there any of you that have been working at this longer, that can give me advice?

90 days seems to be a perfect starter motivator. It is a good idea to have a plan (a doable one). losing a 1 pound/week makes a good healthy goal. That is what i am aiming for.
