Oh I've never read the Hobbit. Waiting until the trilogy is over to do it. I read LoTR after I saw the movies too.

I may be a huge SciFi/Fantasy fan, comic book and action figure collector, follower of non-horror film and TV (esp DrWho), and reader of all things from Heinein/Asimov AndreNorton LOTR/Simarilion to Ender HarryPotter, a DnD player & figure painter; but in my 60 years, I've never played an online video game.

I may be a wee bit of a gamer geek, but I have never played a modern(*) first-person shooter.

*I don't count ol' skool coin-op games, like "CrossBow".

I may be a graphic novel/gamer/sci fi geek, but I have never found an episode of Big Bang Theory that doesn't compel part of me to want to drive a screwdriver through my eye and into my brain to put it out of it's misery.....

however the remote control tends to be closer to hand than the screwdrivers in my house.

I may be a surface level geek, but I have never achieved full-on geek status. Love video games but mostly just the Mario-related ones. Like a fair amount of tv, book, and movie sci-fi by haven't gotten into star trek or Dr. Who and try as I might I can't get throughreading the LOTR series.

I'm the same on comic books. I own all the Marvel movies (mainly the Avenger related ones...except The Hulk). But I also never read a comic book. But pretty much every comic book movie I have enjoyed on some level.

I may be a LotR geek, but I have never.... been so disappointed than when I watched the first Hobbit film! I have been told the second (desolation of Smaug) is better, but I am reluctant to watch it now the first one was so shocking.... IMO, obv!

I may be a complete and utter role play geek ( in fact I run a gaming shop), but I've never ever learnt to play magic the gathering and I detest 4th ed D and D!!
