Day Eight

Sorry I wasn't here for day 7. I'm traveling for work, so I'm posting this via phone. (Excuse any typos! Lol) So everyone, how was your weekend? Any good success stories to share? For today, everyone in the office ordered pizza for lunch. I got a large side salad and packed some granola bars. Might have a slice if I'm hungry, but at least I have a plan to keep me in line for today. Not sure what dinner tonight will be, but will again try to make the healthiest choice of the options I get.

I can't figure out how to put up an image via phone either :( I'll post one from my laptop later when I'm back at my hotel. Happy day all!!!!

I am traveling for work as well! Had a good weekend though went fishing and golfing! Anyone have tips for when they are on the road? I find it can be very discouraging.

My "on-the-go" food today was a Kind Bar. They are super good with super nutrition and they fill you up for around 180 cals, low sodium and high protein. Can't say what my favorite is as I love them all:)

I've never seen those, but I've seen people posting about them. Where can you buy them? They sound wonderful!

My weekend was great, crazy busy running the kids around, but still great :)

I've got a plus and a minus going on right now. The plus is that I went for a 30 minute walk on my lunch break today, YAY!!! The minus is that I bought a new scale over the weekend (which is awesome, I've been using an old dial scale and desperately needed a new one, and this one does body fat %, water %, bone density and a ton of other stuff). I get on it and I weigh 5 lbs more than I did on my other scale, GRRRRRRR. I know that this one is definitely more accurate, but it's a total bummer that I weigh more than I thought I did. I know that I have still lost all the weight, but it feels like a step backward. I guess it will just be a bit longer til my next loss as far as MFP goes.

I hope everyone has a fantastic, successful week!

Eating well and travelling often don't go hand in hand in my life! What helps me be prepared is stocking low-calorie snacks, and trying to plan ahead as much as possible.

I didn't do so great over the weekend, but I did manage not to eat everything in front of me and still lost 3.5 pounds. Not sure how that happened, but I'll take it!

    Have a great week everyone!

Congratulations! That is wonderful. Perhaps you were not as bad as you thought, or during the week you were actually under more than you thought. Just my opinion, but it really is the behavior during the entire week that counts, not just one day (or even 2:)

I have been able to find them at almost every grocery store I go to, mostly in the health food sections. However, I think I am going to start ordering online as they are a little cheaper on Amazon (so long as its free shipping;) The only downside to ordering online, I have to buy more than I really eat, as I typically don't need to worry about eating on the road as I work from home and when the business starts up, I will mostly be in the office then, too. Had the cranberry almond today, it was very good:)

I might have to check into this Kind Bar! I haven't heard of them either! The hotel I'm at offers fruit for breakfast, so I snagged an apple. And Nature Valley Granola bars are really not that bad for you. I prefer cleaner eating generally, but the peanut butter ones are to die for and they aren't awful at all. Usually fills me up! Last time I went out of town, I definitely gained by eating lavishly. I ate light today because I think we're doing an italian restaurant for dinner and I know even their lowest calorie dish is still a lot. Also, most hotels have gyms. As awkward as it may be, I'm hoping to have time to check it out after dinner before I go to sleep and work off some of that italian. I think it all comes down to planning! I purposely bought a box of granola bars to bring with me and all my gym clothes so I'd have no excuses. If you're not prepared, it can be bad, but being prepared definitely seems to be a good call.

My Saturday started awesome: down 5 lbs, which was my goal for the month! Now I need to set a new goal.

I then spent time with friends and slaving away at the school library reading different books and plays and articles. Got to love the life of a student! The only thing I enjoy about Monday is that it brings back my routine and I find I don't stray as easy. Saturday brought a few bad choices, so hopefully running club tomorrow night and my first dance class on Thursday will help retaliate those choices!

One thing I also learned is to always have healthy snacks on hand because when I don't have them, I tend to eat a bit of this and a bit of that, or go to the junk aisle! Being prepared def makes a difference!

Weekend went pretty good for me as well, was fairly low-keyed. Kids had different things going on with friends and our son had a friend over so it was nice. Football could have been better....Nebraska kinda chocked in the 3rd quarter. As far as the late night eating goes, I have been controlling that well. Lost 2 pounds this week and exercised regularly.

I have not had the Kind bars either, our Wal-Mart does carry them so maybe other ones do to. Everyone have a great day.
