FOCUS: MARK 2:1-12

DEVOTIONAL: THE BLESSEDNESS OF FORGIVENESS. ( PSALM 32:1-5)

'WHEN JESUS SAW THEIR FAITH, HE SAID UNTO THE SICK OF THE PALSY.
SON, THY SINS BE FORGIVEN THEE.''
( MARK 2:5)


JESUS PROVED HE HAD GOD'S AUTHORITY TO FORGIVE SINS.
THE FORGIVENESS OF SINS ONLY COMES BY THE POWER OF
CHRIST.


HERE ARE A FEW QUESTIONS TO PONDER OR DISCUSS:

1. WHAT MOTIVATED THE FOUR FRIENDS OF THE PARALYTIC MAN TO
TAKE SUCH DRASTIC MEASURES?

2. DO YOU HAVE FRIENDS YOU LOVE ENOUGH TO GO TO SUCH EXTREMES?

3. WHY WERE THE SCRIBES SO UPSET WHEN JESUS ANNOUNCED THE FORGIVENESS OF SINS?

4. WHAT IS REQUIRED FOR ONE TO FORGIVE SINS? HOW IMPORTANT IS IT FOR SINS TO BE FORGIVEN BY GOD?
WHAT DOES IT MEAN FOR SINS TO BE UNFORGIVEN BY GOD?

    The four men who carried their friend to the rooftop to get Jesus attebtion were true friends.. The word friend is an action word. A friend can pray dirvus but when a friend becomes active and helps that is the blessing that shows true friendship and that works both ways. Only Jesus can firfufe our sins. Because he is so great to continue to forgive as though I never sinned it should we continue to SIB. Absolutely not. Jesus is our only way through his shed blood. We should continue to strive to be more like him. He was redicuked for healing on the holy day. Jesus never signed he went about doing his Fathers work. May I be more like him. Thank you for this thought provoking writing. You are a blessing to our group
