So I think........no.......I know........ Since I quit the shred and have just been running my belly is NOT getting flat anymore and my saddle bags are creeping back in. REALLY??!! Why can't the running help maintain what I started??!!! I am feeling down and defeated today. I'm feeling fat, ugly, frumpy, bloated, you name it. Running is all I have time for during the school year unless I want to sacrifice family time and I refuse to do that. So irritated that I gained this week, a whole 1 pound, but it's still a damn gain. *sigh* I'm sure the bloatedness and blah is just a mood swing and I will lose the water retention that's making me nuts.

You already know what it is - just a question of patience. And we're women - these things are just part of our physiology. It'll go away.
Here's a little something that might cheer you up - my weight over 2 months. Notice the ups and downs, fake plateaus and how awesome it is to lose 3 pounds in one day to never see them back: (the stars are period and ovulation times)

Running alone isn't going to keep your tummy flatten. It also depends on what you eat too. But do not let this to you. You have come a long way, and should be proud!0

Yep it sucks. I have been stuck in this decade for a full 13 months. Can't get under and STAY under 170. Beginning to piss me off.0 -

I realize this, but you would think it would help even a little bit. And it doesn't seem to.0 -
There is a book to go along with the 30 Day Shred. I read it years ago and I remember she said it was a program she used when she wanted to look shredded for an event. I believe she said without, her abs would eventually lose the definition they had upon first completing the program. If all you do is run you may not be able to keep that toned look. I found the book at my local library at the time.0

Great to know, thanks!!!! So basically it's a 'quick fix' workout. I will have to look at that book!!!0 -
So I tried to look up the book and maybe it wasn't specifically for the 30 Day Shred. I think it was Making the Cut. So I may be wrong about the two being linked but I would imagine you would still lose toning without keeping up with toning exercises.0

Aww, well I try to stay away from the scale and go by how I feel. Somedays are better then others, but running alone wont tone everything up. But as long as you continue to push harder on your runs, then it will melt the fat and take into consideration that muscle is coming in too.
Cheer up!!0 -
Thanks ????0
