Hi all! I'm new to this group, just gave birth a week ago to a beautiful girl! My sister is getting married at the end of December, so not a lot of time to lose the baby weight! I remember when I signed up for MFP a few years ago that it asked if you were pregnant or nursing. Well, I wasn't at the time, but obviously I am now. Does anyone know how to change that? I know we're supposed to have some extra calories to keep producing breast milk. I don't want my supply to suffer simply b/c I'm trying to lose weight.
Thanks!
Thanks!

on the food option, you can choose to add breastfeeding to your daily intake, when you do that it will subtract the amount of calories you burn breastfeeding, hope this helps! Oh, and you must remember to do this on your diary daily0

The reason they ask when you sign up is because they don't want you using the MFP suggestions without consulting a doctor (in other words, for liability reasons). However you can do what nsjmp suggested above, or you can add it as exercise. The effect is the same whether you do that or log it as a negative calorie food. Kellymom suggests consuming no less than 1800 calories/day, which nets out to 1300 after you deduct 500 for exclusively BFing.
Congratulations, and welcome!0 -
There's also a breast feeding support board: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/groups/home/197-breastfeeding-support0
