why is the vocal minority always effing stupid?

We all have some kind "group" with beliefs to which we aspouse, but why does the respective vocal minority always fuck it up and have to either misrepresent itself or just be outright wrong?

At least it makes for good internetting.

    OMG. I know what you mean. Every time someone identifies with my belief system and then says something really awful. I cringe and want to smack them.

    and I'm not talking about loudmouth black folks here...

    I just mean the vocal members in a group like christians, jews, republicans, libertarians, democrats, vegans, omnivores, weight lifters, cardio bunnies, etc.

    I have no idea why, but they make we want to hit them. And then I want to hit the people that judge the whole group based on the few loud idiots. Rampant ignorance makes me violent.
