Hi Ladies, hope your bumps are growing nicely and you are feeling well.
I am in the last week of 2nd Trimester and am finding that I am hungry constantly.
I will openly admit that I don't log all my food and that my eating habits are not perfect, there is nearly always a little cake, chocolate milk or some other treat.
So, my question is (knowing that everyone is a different size and shape and that we all exercise at different levels)
How many extra calories have you added to your daily diet since you got pregnant?
Initially I didn't increase it, but always went over lol. I'm on 1870 now and finding that I am destined to go over, even if I exclude crap. I am not prepared to go hungry or stress about 'going over'... I am just curious as to who else is thinking the same thing.
I've put on 5.5kg over 27 weeks and I am happy with that, everyone says "it's all bump". Thanks

You're right, everyone's different, with different goals, fitness levels and starting weights. I am 21 weeks pregnant and started at a healthy weight (5'8" and 145lbs - 172cm and 66kg) so am aiming to gain about 22-26lbs (10-12kg). I adjusted my MFP goals to gain a quarter of a kilo a week from the beginning of my second trimester and that's giving me about 300 calories above my maintenance level, I may add an extra 100 calories again once I hit my third trimester. This way, if I'm hungry I can eat more without risking gaining too much.0

I am 20+4 weeks and I have my calories set for 2,000 .... but I intuitively eat so some days I eat more than that but most days I eat less than that.... it is just to help see how many days over I have done... when I look back at reports in the last 90 days I have eaten over 2,000 calories a total of 9 times... and those are usually either a growth spurt of baby or from having a few low days before a high day... I have not added any extra calories as of yet.... My maintenance is 2100 and I am overweight so my doctor and I have agreed that my max weight gain should be 10 pounds... I am currently at a loss of 11 pounds for this pregnancy...
I feel by eating intuitively and when I am hungry vs. trying to hit a magic number has helped me a lot...0 -
I set mine to 2000 which is a little above maintenance. I haven't gained any weight yet so I have stopped worrying about occasionally going over. I think I will have a gain this week (going on 19 weeks).
I've tried to listen to my body more than ever. I had a few days where I went WAY over my calorie goals, it was like I couldn't stop eating. I logged it, I tried to keep it nutritious, and a couple days later I wasn't ravenous any more. Phew! No harm done0 -
I don't try to hit or stay under a certain number of calories, I just try to log what I eat. (The "goal" is set to whatever the average has been lately.)
My experimentally determined maintenance is 1734 Cal/day. Before I was pregnant, but lifting and very slowly bulking, I was averaging about 1967 calories a day. Lifting has been severely reduced in both weight and frequency since conception.
First trimester average was 2039 a day, or about 300 above maintenance. So far the second trimester has seen an average of 2331 calories a day, or about 600 above maintenance.
5'4.75" pre pregnancy weight was 115 lbs. I was 120 at the start of the second trimester, and right at 122 now, at 16 weeks and 4 days.0 -
Also, weight gain so far (can you tell I like data?):

I'm 25+5 and have my calories set to "gain 0.5lb per week" which has given me 2250 calories all through the second trimester, some days I'm mega hungry, some days I don't make goal. I've gained 10lb this trimester0

Yea I have mine set to that too. But it only gives me 1800 due to my height and weight. I do snack well most of the time, I think my problem is I'm being lazy with logging so not getting the full picture lol.
Thanks everyone for your imput0
