Recommended Rest ?

I've finally got my workout plan together and I was just curious on how many days do you give your muscles to recuperate? I did leg day yesterday. It's the hardest I have ever done them and they felt ok this morning so I went on a hike but now I am diffidently feeling it. I will have an arm day and an abs and back day and cardio 2-3 times this week. Should I just stick to doing each muscle section once a week or is just a couple days enough to recuperate?

  • Normally the time necessary to recuperate or for the muscle to have enough time to heal and grow is 24-48 hours.

    I, for example, am resting 48h between my workouts, as the programm recommends (Stronglifts).

  • I do Starting Strength, it goes AxBxAxx, so I rest 24h after each workout, 48h on weekends.
