I really haven't always followed the Lord, and my "act" couldn't be considered any different then the "worlds", but lately, I have gotten into "knowing God" by reading His Word. My life is changing leaps and bounds. I was saved in 93, I knew that at the time, and I know He has never left me, even though I "felt" He did. I am learning to trust and obey at 60 years old:)
I wanted to join your group because of the focus on scripture, as well as the activity I see. As you know, many groups sort of fizzle out. I would love to be part of this group, and allow God to use me to help others, as well as learn and be helped.
I have a lot going on, but I believe these last few weeks were totally orchestrated by God. I did not know what to do, for a job, take more school, or not, and I feared losing my apartment. I do attend church, but was absent from it through the Summer. I felt I needed to focus on God, not the social interaction. I was depending too much on people, and not God. For me, this worked out really well. Now I am back in church, but God is first. Long story, so don't want to tell all now.
I belong to a bible forum at bibleforum.org which I really like a lot. But having a "forum/group" on MFP that is christian, will be excellent as well.
Just a little more about me, and that is I am going to school to earn a certificate as a fitness technician. I have prayed long and hard asking God what I might be good at, and even love doing. I realized my fave thing is walking, and now, I am incorporating in some body-weight exercises for muscle building. I also have a heart to help our senior population, which I am now a part of at 60:) I wanted to get other ladies out to walk with me, because so many won't go alone. So that started me thinking.
I researched to see what I needed to be legal, as well as qualified to help with fitness and nutrition, then saw there was a program at our local college. I had already taken a mess of business classes, so, with all I've taken, I could have my own biz as a personal trainer, specifically to help seniors:) God's will be done though, whatever He wants for me is ALL I want;)
Ok, enough outa me, but I do hope to make some connections here, and I look forward to the scripture posts, as well as whatever you gals have planned:)
a sister in Christ, Denise
PS I have one prayer request, plus input/feedback if you would. One class they are requiring is yoga, and I do know a little about it, but not a lot. I am trying to find out today what all the class entails. Any help on that appreciated

Welcome Denise. I do hope you will continue to post and anytime the Lord lays something on your heart please do not hesitate to post it.
I love your idea of helping our senior population. As a Christian that is one of the things God commands us to do I believe.
Where do you live - what state? Just curious since your profile is closed & private.
Looking forward to getting to know you.0 -
Denise,
I love your words of encouragement and telling us a little about yourself. Feel free to share what God wants you to share with us. We are open to all of you and my wish is that more people like you will be encouraged to post in here like you did. I hope you have been able to read the profiles of Zee and I as we are doing what I believe God wants us to do in MFP. Zee is a wonderful teacher of God's Word and I appreciate her everyday. The only suggestion I can give at this moment in time about yoga is to just research and pray about it. Later ladies, will talk to you both again soon.

Oh it is, my profile? I thought I made it public. Well, I will do that as soon as I write you here:) I am in Oregon, near Roseburg:)
I will try to be loyal to the group, and the Lord knows I need all the fellowship I can get.
God bless you, Denise0 -
Hi Melanie! Thank you much and yes, I am praying on the yoga thing. I found out it is just physical movements, but the instructor doesn't teach any "religious" stuff. Hope that is true but I will find out Monday. Pray I allow the Lord to lead me in my decision, God bless, denise:)0
