I saw more big signs than I could count during my first marathon yesterday.
What are your favorites? Here a a few that I can remember:
"Chuck Norris Never Ran a Marathon"
"Beer Ahead"
"Your Pace or Mine?"
"You are all Crazy!"
"Motivating Sign"
"You are ahead of everyone behind you!"
"Give up now before you have a heart attack"
"You can always try again next year"
"Its never too late to quit"
"Quit hogging the street"
"You are slow"
"You can stop now, someone already won the race"
"Purse snatcher ahead"
"Run like you stole something"
"Run fast I just farted"
"You are better than Congress"
"I love your endurance. Call me"
"Worst parade ever"
"Toenails are overrated"
"The zombies are catching up!"

Some of these are just too funny. I can't really remember any I've seen that you haven't already got, but of yours I like:
"You are ahead of everyone behind you!"
"Give up now before you have a heart attack"
"You can always try again next year"
"Its never too late to quit"
"Quit hogging the street"
and
"Worst parade ever"0 -
Ones I saw at the half I ran yesterday:
"Run quietly, I am really hung over"
"You are all freaking nuts"
The really freaky one was one that said something about finishing in 222nd place, because I did (out of over 550 and I was 9th of 49 in my age group, so I feel good about it).0 -
"Betty White runs faster than you."
"Turbo Boost!" (This is usually held up by the running club's bouncing hot dog)
And the funniest I have ever seen:
"Don't know why I am holding a sign, just doing what every one else is."0 -
LMAO @ Chuck Norris!!!
ETA: I'll let you know after my marathon on Saturday what signs I see!0 -
The last half I ran in August a group put speed boost arrows on the course like from video games at mile 12. They were yelling and trying to get everyone to run across them. I swear they seemed to work.0

"Just think: you can eat anything you want today"
"If marathons were easy they'd be called your mom"0 -
Two of my favorites were " My arms are killing me from holding up this sign". and "If your legs hurt, just think of how my arms must feel." Also loved "Worst Parade Ever."0
-
"If marathons were easy they'd be called your mom"
That one is my favorite.
OF course I am quite partial to, "My Mom Runs. What does yours do?" <---my kids made this one for me once0 -
"Why do all the cute ones always run away?"
these two were together:
"Run like there is a really cute guy in front of you" "and a really creepy one behind you"0 -
i have not run any yet (planning my first half april 2014). but you made me smile today.
thanks.0 -

My favorite has already been mentioned - "You have great stamina. Call me." This was held by a young, attractive blond woman - and being in Santa Cruz, CA, that sign could have been directed at men, women, or both!
This last weekend I also saw a new one - "Press here for more horsepower" and he'd drawn a button on his sign and was standing on the road right next to the runners going by so we could hit his sign.0 -
Don't make me run! I'm full of chocolate!

"Go Mr. Munger!"
--At an out-of-town race where I had no friends or family. It was the first race I'd ever been in with another Munger (I beat him .
The second was Boston, where I was crushed by Suzanne Munger.0 -

I saw for the first time in September at the Sioux Falls Half/Full Marathon. It made numerous runners laugh! (I was volunteering and was put outside the state prison so another lady held "run like you stole something" - not my favorite sign but timing since we were in the parking lot of the prison)0 -

I saw that same sign haha - and I was a bit leery running past that prison. You and the rest of the vols kicked serious azz BTW. The kids at mile 24 with the Star Wars quotes had me, but they weren't marathon-specific.0
