Hello, I've been on Metformin for 4 mos now, worked up slowly to 3 pills a day.
I have no appetite anymore. even if im hungry, i just don't feel like eating. i've lost 15lbs which is great, and i guess its good not to crave stuff anymore . really i should celebrate this as a blessing.
i'm just worried how this will progress that's all. has anyone else had experience with this side effect?

Before I started taking Met, I would eat a meal and within an hour, my stomach would be grumbling and claiming to be hungry. After starting taking Met. this completely stopped after about a week. I never lost my appetite completely like you did but my appetite and food intake shifted in a huge way. I also stopped craving carbs at every meal and following that up with some sort of sweet. Give it a little while to see how your body adjusts to it but if by the time you have a follow-up with your doctor (within a month or so), talk to them about it and see what they say.0

I have completely lost my appetite too!! I started taking Metformin about 4 weeks ago and have built up to twice a day and I am just not hungry anymore - I have to force myself to eat!! I wasn't sure if it was the tablets or just eating a very low carb diet - so it's nice to hear I am not alone!0
