I am new to the group, just discovered that I was pregnant on Monday.
Baby will be due in June sometime.
Haven't made a doctor appointment yet, but with my last pregnancy I was told to not start anything new. That it was okay to keep going with what I had been doing, but nothing new. Then, in my third trimester I was put on bed rest. We will see what the doctor has to say when that time comes but, for now, the goal is to just walk every single day!
As for diet, I have chosen to carefully analyze my nutrient goals (i.e. protein, iron, calcium ... etc) and set them to what I believe I should be getting. I am going to be certain to eat healthy and try to hit these minimums every single day, regardless of calories.
I have been on MFP for awhile now and have lost 17lbs. I am not really liking the idea of gaining again but am counting on that happening.
Again, it will depend on what the doctor has to say, but as I am overweight now I am hoping to probably only gain around 20.
Anyways, just wanted to say hello. How is everyone doing today?

Congratulations on your pregnancy! My advice is just eat healthily and keep exercising and ignore the scales for the next nine months. You will have little or no control over what they'll say so don't bother other than for keeping track and don't stress about it. You can eat at maintenance for the first trimester and eat back most of your exercise calories, then add calories in the second and third trimesters. Good luck!

Welcome & congrats!! I'm almost done with week 32, with my first. I am overweight and have gained about 23 lbs (more than ideal but not too bad). Since I was recently diagnosed with a mild case of gestational diabetes, my diet has been stricter than usual. But up until about week 30 I just ate primarily healthy, unprocessed foods and exercised (mostly walking, some spin) several times a week. I ate at maintenance pretty much the whole pregnancy thus far.

Wishing you all the best for a healthy & happy pregnancy!!
